There are a couple of new options from the LOA list in 8th which add quite a lot imo.
Daemonsmith is now allowed to ride a Great Taurus or a Lamassu! At 2000 points it's possible to have a Prophet and a Daemonsmith mounted on a flying beastie.
Lord level Melee character. This is great, it is finally possible to field a Chaos Dwarf Lord.

Yeah, the Chaos Dwarf army list in TOW is in an interesting position - they've certainly added in some things from the 4th Edition list alongside the Tamurkhan content, like the things you've mentioned, plus Black Orcs and Hobgoblin Sneaky Gitz, and that Infernal Guard now have options for standard Chaos Dwarf Warriors as well (like wearing standard heavy armour rather than the Infernal Guard-specific Blackshard Armour). However I honestly think they could have done a bit more to increase variety, like separating out Chaos Dwarf Warriors (profiled in the same way as Dwarf Warriors) from Infernal Guard (who are more like Longbeards) and reintroducing standard cavalry-size Bull Centaurs alongside their bigger Render brothers so that the 4th Edition Centaurs get a use again. Additionally I've noticed they've booted out both the K'daai Destroyer (though it was OP) and the Siege Giant.

I saw the Sneaky Gits which I was pretty cool and knew the Destroyer was gone but completely missed the removal of the Siege Giant....that's a shame. I'll probably use Chaos Dwarfs for my first test game of The Old World. I see Blunderbuss and Fireglaives came down by 1 point. I've only skimmed the list at this stage. I use the oop Centaurs as Renders but would have loved to see the Chaos Dwarfs get a Lord level Centaur character like they used to have to go with the Tauruk. Hellbound making the misfire table worse but granting a reroll is interesting.
