The Warhammer gods have been kind, it looks like I will get another battle in next week. Probably the most games I have managed in a short(ish) period in many years. I was thinking of going for either Orcs & Goblins or Vampire Counts, so any votes for who you would rather see in the battle report are welcome to settle my indecisiveness
I will be mainly using stuff that I haven’t used very often.
O&G (2k)
Skarsnik
275 points
Night Goblin Big Boss (Battle Standard, Bad Moon Banner, Great Weapon)
109 points
Night Goblin Shamen (Lvl 2)
85 points
Goblin Big Boss (Gigantic Spider, Light Armour, Great Weapon)
81 points
Savage Orc Shamen (Lvl 2)
105 points
5 Goblin Wolfriders
50 points
32 Night Goblins (Nets, Full Command, 2x Fanatics)
221 points
36 Night Goblins (Full Command)
138 points
23 Savage Orcs (Additional Hand Weapon, Full Command)
242 points
Squig Herd – 18 Squigs 10 Night Goblins
174 points
5 Squig Hoppers
60 points
3 Trolls
105 points
Arachnarok
290 points
Mangler Squig
65 points
The thinking being that Skarsnik would roll with the Battle Standard and in a horde taking advantage of the Stubborn banner. The Big Boss on the spider would join the other unit to give them a little bit of killing power. I originally put in the Savage Orc Shamen to carry the Shrunken Head but that ended up being cut. I could perhaps swap him out to buff my other shaman to a Lord or a Rock Lobber/Doom Diver/River Trolls/Pump Wagon/5 Savage Orc Boar Boyz. But on the flip-side he give me some access to Lore of the Big Waaagh.
So that is the green option..
For the Undead option I was thinking of giving Kemmler a run out and not going with any Vampires
Heinrich Kemmler
350 points
Wight King (Battle Standard Bearer, Lance, Shield, Barded Steed)
139 points
40 Crypt Ghouls (Champion)
410 points
24 Skeleton Warriors (Spears, Full Command)
150 points
29 Zombies (Musician, Standard)
97 points
9 Black Knights (Barding, Lances, Full Command)
264 points
20 Grave Guard (Shields, Full Command)
250 points
Corpse Cart (Unholy Lodestone)
120 points
Spirit Host
45 points
3 Cairn Wraiths (1x Banshee)
175 points
Obviously a lot of eggs are in the resurecting basket on this one and I couldn’t squeeze in another necromancer to help or to carry the Book of Arkhan. But that should really be Kemmler’s forte shouldn’t it. I could swap out the Wight King for a necromancer or for some Hexwraiths or something I guess? Not sure I will have my Dire Wolves painted in time for this battle unfortunately.
