I definitely recommend 2 units of 10 Xbow over 1 larger unit. It allows much greater flexibility and you can always shoot both at the same target if needed.

Thanks for all the replies. I definitely like list 1 better, partly because I already have the Hydra and I won't have to go out and buy a bunch of executioners.
I also like it better because it puts something in the list that has a T value higher than 3. Typical elven frailty and all that. Plus I like the idea of hitting a horde of goblins/slaves with a breath template and killing 20+ models in a single go, then either charging/being charged in the following turn.
And I agree knoffles about 2 units. It gives you more flexibility in shooting at the trade-off for combat ability.
I messed up somewhere in points though. When I built the list out in Army Builder last night I have enough room for 20 xbows, but couldn't squeeze musicians on both units. I need to find 8 points somewhere in the list so I can add a musician to both units.
EDIT: I can scrap the shields on one unit of xbows (non-bunker I suppose) in order to find the points for a musician. I cannot take a unit with missle weapons without taking a musician anymore. That free reform can be the difference between life and death. Just ask anyone with a "move or fire" weapon how nice it is being able to move/reform and still shoot at something harassing a flank.
