Hey KevinC,
Just ran your Stormcast Liberator in the generic point model we've created (it balances out all builds on a meta level), and it rolls out at 68 points. It's mainly due to it's high stats (S/T/A/W), stubborn (one of the best abilities in the game), super armour and ward save. Of course you can apply discounts on an army level if you cap the armies options (for example: no warmachine, not alot of cav, no missle troops, etc). Let me know if you want other options weighed out.

Don't the Brettonians currently have a ward save all around and a better than 4+ armour. You don't hear about them being overpowered.

pellegrim,
I appreciate the points model, however, I'm not sure a single model can effectively price a model or at least several models. For example, does the point model take into account they are infantry on 40 mm bases or that the entire army will be pretty much infantry on 40 mm bases? Does it factor in if the opponent takes lots of multiple wound weapons? But I think that's what your getting at about discounts.
How does your model work though?
Thanks!

Kevinc,
Thanks. The model works pretty solid, it calculates the points of stat, gear and ability increase. It also ties together certain choices (point increase depends on absolute increase and the choices of other increases. However, your remark on bases triggered my attention - points need a (slight) adjustment if placed on larger bases, since less attack can be made against the model. However, the higher the T, AS and WS, the less big model base influence will be. For Ogres it is relevant (T4, no super armour), but for the model in this thread to influence will be less. My estimation is it will lower the cost with 5 points.

They look great to me! 40 mm Infantry is a novel concept (I haven't played against the chaos versions yet) which brings a new element to the field. Since they lack the bulk of Monstrous Infantry they don't get smaller ranks, stomps or 3 supporting attacks, which means their large footprint will be a big balancing factor.
The GW/D3 wound guys look crazy good, but then again very expensive for a 3W T4 model. I think it balances out.

I key note too is that these guys can be stomped and thunder stomped! Despite their armour, Eternals need to be very careful about Monstrous Infantry and Monsters!

I talked our Empire player into basing his on 40mm square. He's a fast painter so hopefully we will be using these rules soon in our End Times games. As a bit of alternate history where Sigmar gets his #&¤"% together in time to deploy the Stormcasts in the Old World.

Great Anton, let us know how it goes.
I'll be posting more units, such as characters, soon.

Might be interesting to add in some current units, Warrior Priests and the like, that already exist and fit the army

I think that the new characters coming out could come with the Harmonic Convergence spell as a Bound spell (3) or something. I don't think that units should get it though.

I know that there is something else out there that is on 40mm and nor monstrous. I've faced it, I just don't remember what it is. Maybe it was Minotaurs?

Bugman,
The Nurgle and Khorne units from the End Times are infantry on 40 mm.
Def like the bound spells stuff.

Hey Kevin, Are characters coming soon? Our Empire player nearly completed the whole set and the new separate character model as well. We can make it up ourselves obviously but since you made the rules for the units it might be better for consistency if they were all written by you.
We're playing the End Times narrative at about one battle per day now (vacation yay!) and Empire will be in it the battle after the next. After that I'll bring you our feedback on the rules.
