Dogs of war were IIRC small compare to 6th ed empire troops. I think it is rather like Baron said, more 'well-proportioned' than 'small'. The real independent Perry minis are actually rather skinny but the 5th human DoWs are of almost perfect proportioned (may be just because I'm too infatuated with them!) However comparing them to The 6th edition empire troop, which are probably the worst plastics (over the top hands and heads) in history, is quite unfair to the latter. The 7th edition empire minis are much better, slightly taller and more elegant (compared with the 6th). The Age of Sigmar Priest is definitely from the other world (but still very playable). P.s. Grandmasterwang, your Leopard reminds me the pain of not having that RoR yet. Still looking for them but the Ebay prices have been rather hostile, to say the least !

I'm sure that GW will maintain that you can still play with our 8th models in AoS, but it will be akin to expecting to win a game running 10 Goblins vs a Steam Tank. Possible, but not likely. If you want to win, buy the new expensive stuff. Or like an old metal chimera, dragon ogre, demon prince, etc. is basically baby sized compared to the more current plastics. Yes, GW maintained you could still play with your old models but you would show up with your 2" tall demon prince and your opponent would complain that your demon prince was too small and even though he can't see it behind your troops that he should be able to because it should really be the current model which is 4" tall (or whatever the dimension actually are).

not gonna lie, even after all this time thinking about the way they canned 8th still saddens me... and seeing the older models slowly fade away fills me with nostalgia. I understand I'm a grognard, and nostalgia is pretty much my lot in life but the Old World represented hundreds of hours of great times and comradeship! also these new dwarfs with the steampunk top hats... no, just no! Yes, it still burns me too and as a dwarf player I have come to feel that I have become a dwarf in a sense (ie holding a grudge for the rest of my life!!). Side note, I love your new avatar.
