Were there any linked battles/scernarios to go along with those lists? Not that I saw but I never got the original white dwarves they were in so not sure if there was ever anything in them. Horace - Yes there are some scenarios that went along with this series (5 in total I believe). I have printouts of them but can't get them uploaded here right now but I should be able to do so by the end of the coming weekend.

Let me know if people can read these even though they are photos. If necessary I could scan them if it would be easier to read.
I think these used to be on GW website (during 6th edition). I printed them off because my brother played high elves and I played dwarves and I figured these would be awesome to play out. Sadly we never did get to play trough them and now he doesn't play anymore 😕

I do not want to a spoilsport, but this kind of copying pages and pages of copyrighted material has lead to IP problems in the past. Perhaps GW does not care anymore regarding WFB, but who knows? I also raise the issue, because in the past it has led to completely unwarranted pre-emptive self-censorship on many websites, where even legitimate references and quotations, including the point cost of a model, were deleted by the administrators.

Wait a tick - Are you just a Rules Lawyer, or an IRL Lawyer?

It's certainly not a FOR PROFIT HACK as no one on this board takes or makes any $$$s. And we aren't denying GW any possible revenue streams that we know of, as these are long out of print magazines for a gaming system that is defined, by the manufacturer, as being obsolete.
Yes, it is all copyrighted material, by the letter of the law. But, in function we are a bunch of like-minded gamers and anything we post serves to only INCREASE the profits of GW through possible future miniature sales, yes?

Well, let's just hope they don't notice... This is pretty much the only way I'll ever see stuff like this. Besides, it'd get really, really monotonous PDFing all of these photos to one another...

I personally do not have a problem with it, but that is not relevant. It is what GW may think. Perhaps they do not mind, but their IP policy is still the same. I prefer to point out a potential hazard, in the hope to forestal a future remedy that would again overshoot the goal by far.

You are correct to pay attention. As a site admin I have locked down people trying to get points costs and full rules without buying books. I also think scans of in print fluff would be a problem as well. I don't know how this stuff falls for sure but I think it's not the kind of stuff that's designed to allow someone to get away without buying an in print book or other publication.
edit because of damn autocorrect

GW should be personally thanking us for: 1) reminding them what a hobby article looks like 2) keeping alive a system they have forsaken 3) generating continued interest in their products
I don't see any harm in a few oop hobby article pictures and would suggest continuing as we are until told otherwise

With the caveat that I am not a lawyer: under the "Fair Use" provision, one is allowed to make limited use of the original author's work without asking permission. There are however some conditions, mainly: - proper credit must be given - it has to be limited - it has to be for a legitimate purpose (scholarship & review, criticism & commentary, non-profit educational uses...) - it has to add something new
That is why it is no problem e.g. to quote relevant paragraphs from the BRB or AB in a rules discussion. So, just posting copies of whole pages could turn out to be problematic, but if you would use parts to illustrate or discuss something, that should be allright. Self-evidently, that would also require much more work.
Ultimately, of course, it is the administrators' call.
