Yes!!! That was a legendary report! The fact that earlier battle reports and articles had led up to it made it even more epic.

How about the original Gathering of Might? As I recall it was around issue 120 and was a charity game run by a school club 25,000 3rd ed points playing 28 hours straight or something for charity. Full battle report in White Dwarf. (No fancy studio pictures however)

Really great stuff. True gems in there. Looking at some of these awesome armies I can't help but wonder where are some of these armies now? Do the owner's still use them and if so what for? Were they sold of or traded over a decade ago? Are they stored away in their basement/attic and have been forgotten (and if so are they willing to wheel and deal with me because I would take all of these armies)?

Okay, that guy has to have probably the single greatest job in the world!
If I didn't have to worry about money, then I'd want to just do that with the rest of my life!

Well this might be one of the best threads ever. The sheer amount of creativity is mind-blowing on these projects. I wish these things were encouraged more in the hobbies instead of just people waiting around for specific models to be made. Also, am I alone in thinking that Nurgle ship feels more Bretonnian than the Bretonnian one? The corsair looks like a fancy Empire ship while the Nurgle one has the zany medieval feel Bretonnia is known for. Just give it a proper recolor with royal colors, a knight pointing his sword forward on the prow and peasants falling off the water wheels while trying to turn them and you got the perfect ship.

I totally agree with you! I was thinking that exact same thing when I first looked at it. Also, the Bret ship has cannons and the Empire ship doesn't?!? That's just not right! Lol!

This is the perfect place to post this so I thought I would ask:
I'm thinking about creating a War of the Beard campaign for myself and my regular opponent and was wanting to use those old White Dwarfs that had that info in it where they covered the War.
Does anyone here have access to those White Dwarf issues?
BTW those were my favorite issues; there was some great artwork and some great fiction written for that little fluff piece. Plus I've always loved Dwarves and Elves, what's not to like?

I've taken a few shots of the rules (but not the fluff), it was on my camera so excuse the quality Edit - I've put them into word and it's in my drop box: www.dropbox.com/s/4em88xk5cdfxjm9/War%20of%20the%20Beard.docx?dl=0

I'll check!
I actually might have those chronicles books in storage! I know I bought them and I tend not to throw away old books like that. I'll check and see.
That link doesn't seem to work.
