Hmm, we're going to play blood and glory. Bit worried about the doombull getting cannonballed, the bsb without gnarled hide and few banners. Going to toy around a bit more.

I know how you feel with my latest build I have bottled it and added the charmed shield with dragonbane gem, figuring that without the imposing presence of a ghorgon all Cannon fire will be heading his way

I think with minos to deal with cannon balls you just need enough different threats your opponent can't deal with them all. You will lose some. But if you have harpies, a jabber (surprisingly useful despite being over costed), ghorgon, razorgors, and a flybull then your rambull ends up being lower on the target priority list.

So since my Doombull will be a cannon magnet and I'm afraid he'll not see combat because of the foot print size, I have a second option. What do you guys think?

That's a very nice list; checks all my boxes. I'd consider units of 5 raiders instead of 10.

Don't they run away too fast then? Was wondering what weapon to give the Beastlord and just went for the adhw. He's S6 anyway in the gor unit without magic.

I'd actually consider dropping the chalice of dark rain and replacing it with a dispel scroll. I think the scroll has more use especially when your list doesn't have any big gribblies such as ghorgons/doombulls to protect. But that also depends on how shooty your opponents normally are. It would also free up some points to add something like the biting blade to your beastlord so you had something to kill ethereal chaff (which would also mean dropping his AHW and giving him a shield for more protection). If you really want the extra attack, I think you could drop the ironcurse icon and give him the +1 attack sword and retain both the shield and ability to hurt ethereal. (Yep I've had issues with them in the past. It scarred me ok. 😊).

Just saw your post, I had assumed the lord was in the Bestigors...

Don't they run away too fast then? I worried about that in my list bashing so also went with 10 rather than 5

Versus empire so no ethereal stuff. Very shooty opponent I think. I would take at least two canons and a helblaster versus beastmen, prolly a stank too. Dispel scrolls are not allowed, forgot to mention that probably. Biting blade? Cheap and versus, I like it

I like units of 5 because they're cheap and have a small footprint. Mine act as screens for the big blocks and so they're almost always inside the generals LD range. It's the harpies and the dogs that are always running away for me

Units of 5 ungor raiders with a musician are worth their weight in gold. They might be the best thing in the list. At T3 and no armor almost anything shooting at them can cause a panic attack. It's 2 wounds at 5 models vs 3 wounds at 10 models. I don't think adding one T3 wound before panic check is worth twice the points.
They don't kill enough of anything to make their shooting very valuable even in large blocks. But as ambushers with primal fury, skirmishers (stubborn in woods) redirectors and chaff drops they are very good.

^this^
I never count on their shooting to do anything. It just gives me something to do in the shooting phase and I get to mock my opponent and claim moral victory when an ungor actually kills something.
But as a missle screen? As a redirector? Something cheap to draw out fanatics?
You can't put a price on that utility.
