Wow, this sounds really fun, Kevin! I've always wanted TK to have the ability to raise units from the ground! That has always seemed like SUCH a gross oversight to me! And the Scorpion Chariots sound like a fun idea! Hopefully Ul-Rem can make Ushabti relavent again.
Great work!

Both the scorpion chariots and the Necrotect/Ushabti exist already as custom converted miniatures. They're fully painted and, who knows, they might even see use tomorrow or Sunday for a campaign game! The new spell was unexpected... that's just cool. I will certainly use that in my games this weekend cause - WHY NOT HAVE TELEPORTING SKELLIES

Just had a look at this supplement, some interesting stuff here, though personally I thought Tomb Kings had enough units, and the main problem is more that the units they have, or rather the special rules they rely upon, need a glow-up to level the playing field against armies that were blessed with later books. I'd love it if you took the following suggestions into account for a possible Draft III: - In the lore attribute, models with the Large Target special rule (as opposed to the Animated Construct special rule, to allow Ushabti to be healed D3+1 wounds) may only heal 1 wound in this way per successful casting, and characters may also be healed in this way, but only 1 wound per magic phase
- Tomb Kings units should be able to march if they are within 12” of the Hierophant
- If the Heirophant is slain, if there are other friendly Liche Priests or Liche High Priests with the Lore of Nehekhara on the battlefield, the Priest with the highest Wizard level may take over as the Hierophant (if there are multiple Priests with the same Wizard level, you may choose)
- Banner of the Undying Legion should grant the unit the ability to gain D6+2 models from every buff spell as per the Lore Attribute, rather than being a bound spell
- Ushabti should be T5 (they’re stone statues, and it’s currently stupid that some big fat Ghouls are tougher than them)
- All units with the Animated Construct special rule should be immune to Poisoned attacks (they have no blood, so poison wouldn’t have any effect on them)
- In place of 'Arise, Warriors of Nehekhara, ARISE!!!', perhaps a different name, based upon the 'Incantation' format of the Lore of Nehekhara spells, can be given to the Heirophant's signature spell? It would satisfy my sense of perfectionism if all the Tomb King spells were kept in the same format. Perhaps 'Tahoth's Great Incantation of Wise Intervention', as he is the Ibis God of wisdom who rewards skill in tactics and would respect the idea of the Heirophant summoning a unit of Nehekharans to intercept a key enemy charge or eliminate an enemy War Machine?

lordofskullpass, You have interesting suggestions. But just so you know, I did the update to make the fewest changes possible (the new units were really for a campaign where a friend converted units). My philosophy in doing an errata or update to a WFB supplement is to do the fewest changes possible. It is more likely for a wide range of players to accept changes if they are few, as oppose to re-writing a whole book. So I took the things that I thought could be tweaked to make Tomb Kings a bit more on par. That's also one reason I disagree with the different factions out there to re-write the whole Warhammer game. For example, if you wanted to modify the WFB game. I'd recommend taking between 3 and 5 rules and slightly modifying them. Fit them neatly onto one page, and it would be more comprehensive to a WFB player rather than re-writing an entire rule book.

KevinCHey, is it OK if i shoot some more questions your way? I'm always on the lookout for making Tomb Kings a bit more fun to play in 8th without completely breaking them "The totaled result is the number of Skeleton Warrior models that comprises the new unit. The unit is equipped with hand weapons, shields, and light armour. If the majority of the summoned models in the unit are armed with spears, then the unit is also equipped with spears." How does this work? If i physically own spear skeletons, i get spear skeletons, else i get sword and board skeletons? From a design perspective - why limit to sword and board (and seemingly spear and board) only, as opposed to also allowing archer skeletons, those being more uniquely tomb kingy? also, isn't a 16+! spell that can then not have any effect at all (because of entombed beneath the sands misfires) and that is very random (anywhere between 3 and 18 models) not....quite terrible? Wouldn't you rather include a clause stating something akin to "treat all misfires as a HIT!" (or, if you must make the spell weaker, "treat all misfires as 1-2; delayed" --> not sure what the number and phrasing is, but the one that says they enter next turn)? Finally, out of curiosity, what is the design thought behind the somewhat complicated lord of constructs special rule, as opposed to following already existing examples (such as Throgg the troll king making trolls (being ushabti-equivalents) count as core without additional exceptions/clauses)? Lord of Constructs: If Ul-Rem Nartect is included in your army, then your army must include at least one unit of Ushabti. This compulsory unit of Ushabti counts towards the army’s Core unit allowance, rather than towards the army’s Special unit allowance. Additional units of Ushabti may be taken as normal counting towards the army’s Special unit allowance. cheers!

What ended up happening to this project, is it still ongoing? Will there be a book eventually?

When you create the Skeleton unit, the unit is armed with hand weapons and shields. However, if the player is placing spear-armed models and the unit has a majority of models equipped with spears, then the unit is treated as being equipped with spears too. Regarding the casting cost....you are able to create a whole new unit, which is really good in many ways. What casting cost do you think it should be? I didn't view the Lord of Constructs rule as complicated. But it was designed to allow an option for a Constructed themed army.
