My pet hate is furry models! How many of you have gotten second hand mins off of ebay that have either been glued together with some kind of indestructible resin or melted together with plastic glue... and they have half a wookies worth of fur trapped in each joint! or, Khaine forbid, getting a unit, already undercoated that have a billion fibres, all black and sticking out of every single surface... even after stripping, the best i can... Im still picking hairs off as I paint!!! God it's the bane of my existence!

Furry models? Or just the fury you feel when dealing with these kinds of eBay purchases.
I've had some shockers where it seems like the model is 50% made up of caked on static grass that has now fused with the model. I never manage to get rid of them all and once painting begins it's like more sprout out of nowhere.
My biggest pet peeve however is models which are a complete nightmare to assemble....whether its mold lines, non fitting parts or just horrible joins which won't glue.
I get enthusiastic when I have a delivery or pick up a model......if I then start to assemble it and feel like I'd be better off and quicker building a space ship...it just kills my enthusiasm and sometimes that model waits years before eventually being assembled. Sometimes it never gets assembled and is doomed to miniature purgatory.

Yeah, I really hate that too. Especially when the "paint job" is simply horrendous.
My latest frustration with eBay is dealing with sellers who simply don't send the product. I've run into this about 10 times in the past 6 months. Before that - never. I just received a message from "thetrolltrader" seller yesterday about a Lizardman Troglodon that I ordered 2 months ago, that they just had the package returned to them because it "couldn't be delivered". They had my correct address and everything. I've ordered plenty from them before and never had trouble getting anything, but now, they're telling me that I will have to pay shipping AGAIN in order for them to send it to me! WTF! I responded to them saying that it is not my fault that they didn't deliver their product that I purchased and paid for, and that if they could not deliver it for the original price, then I expect a FULL refund of my money. Their response was, "It is our policy to require shipping payment on any package that is returned to us." So I'll have to open another case with eBay to get my money refunded. That's just wrong and bad business. You should NEVER penalize a customer on your failure to deliver your product! They'll be getting a NASTY review from me over this.
One of my friends was a commission painter before all the End Times stuff happened and things got bad for commissioned armies, and he had a rough time with eBay from one buyer in particular. The individual bought a model, my friend shipped it, about 2 months went by, hearing nothing from the buyer, and suddenly my friend received a package back with the model, used and abused, where it had obviously been taken apart, with several pieces missing, horrifically glued back together, and a letter asking for a full refund of the buyers money. My friend, trying to do the right thing, contacted eBay about it, thinking that the buyer would be red-flagged or something, but instead, they informed him that he had to refund the buyer's money or be banned from selling on eBay. Needless to say, he abandoned eBay. It when into more detail, but that's the gist of it.
The WORST case of model (and eBay) abuse came from another friend of mine who runs VC and I play regularly. He was trying to purchase lots of Zombies off eBay, attempting to flesh out his hordes. He found one seller who was posting 75 Zombies. Once he received the models, they were all randomly cemented in the movement tray in CONCRETE! None of them were ranked up and were sporadically mixed in the huge 100-model-count movement try. When he walked into my house carrying his models, he handed me the tray without telling me anything about it and I took it off his hands trying to help him in the door. I almost dropped it because I wasn't expecting the incredible weight of it! He showed me the pictures posted on eBay after he received the lot and all of the pics were taken from various angles where you couldn't see the base and were confused about the orientation of the models. There was no mention in the description other than "Slightly used". I was pissed! My friend though, is a very happy-go-lucky guy and just shrugged it off. He has somehow managed to break the concrete off the models though. I don't know how, but he said that he managed to do it after much struggling. If it were me, I'd have started a case with eBay and tried to get my money back.

I used to love the guy who would advertise "Warhammer Blood Thirster OOP" on ebay and not clearly indicate they were selling a 15 mm tall EPIC model.

I used to buy from the Troll trader quite a bit as they have a great selection of warhammer models. I have noticed that recently several cheaper lots I lost out on are now being sold by them for about 5 times the price and in general, over the last few years they have increased their prices massively. I keep wondering who on earth is buying their stuff and keeping these prices viable and now I know lol.

Yeah I'm super cautious with eBay. I've never sold anything and I don't plan on ever selling things there, but overall I've had good experiences with all the sellers I've interacted with. mottdon that's some serious messed up stuff though...

Lol, honestly, I haven't bought much of their stuff because 1) it has to come from overseas, so it takes forever to get to me and is usually beat up by the time I get it, 2) as you said, their prices aren't the best, 3) the model is almost always used and beat up in some manner. I only get some of their stuff if I see a good deal that nobody is bidding on, and then I make an offer for a reasonable amount less than what they want for it. This particular bid was for a Troglodon - not exactly a high-demand model. I probably won't be going back to shopping with them though. I do however, buy quite a bit from Lazarus games. Their stuff is used, but occasionally you can find some good pieces that only require a touch of work, for decent prices. They are usually quite willing to work with you on pricing as well. I've never had a problem getting my stuff from them and almost always ships out the day after I pay, and I get in shortly thereafter. I highly recommend them.

I tried Lazarus once. I tried making them what I thought was a reasonable offer for some dark elf executioners, they wouldn't accept the offer because executioners are a popular model and they were confident it would sell at the price they were asking.
Haven't used them since.
Most of the stuff I buy comes from Nobleknight Games and then random sellers.

Of course, now (due to to the General Perversity Theory) your e-bay purchases for the forseeable future will be trouble (and hair) free...
