I like em but the horses are on crack and no musician from what I can see...
But I already have 20 of the old one.

I've seen a lot of criticism of the gait of the horses, and I don't think it's fair. Yes, some of them look awkwardly posed, but if you take a snapshot of a horse running, there are some awkward looking positions they're in sometimes - this is a random image off google, which illustrates that: Third row down, the two on the right look similar - the leg at the front sticks out in a funny way, but that's how horses canter!

Thanks for googling that, I kinda assumed it was the case and well, here we are.

Elves don't ride horses, they ride Elven steeds, so a bit of an unfair comparison...
Also, regardless of whether the steed was sculpted to look like the horse in slide No.11 - it looks goofy as a model.
The Proof's in the pudding, and everyone thinks this horse isn't horsing.

I absolutely love the riders, and may buy a pack just for that reason, BUT I know that with one single contact point, that horse will end up breaking in transit easier than the similar storcast demigryph... the upkeep may just lose em a sale there

Well that horse has balance. The gw horse is all over the place, it’s not enough with one foot pointing in the right direction. For balance all 4 feet and needs to line up as that picture. And gw is not even close.

I’ve never even considered magnets to base a mini- does make sense though

I’ve never even considered magnets to base a mini- does make sense though Sorry to be clear use them for transport, not basing. Magnetized minis are not going to break in transit as they're not bumping into anything.

If the horse lose looks awkward...then it looks awkward.
It's all about the eye test for miniatures.

www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Loathsome-Ratmen-And-All-Their-Vile-Kin-2020'The Loathsome Ratmen and All Their Vile Kin' is back on print-on-demand. I hadn't heard of this one before, but it's apparently an old WFB background book. I'd normally jump at the chance to get it, except it's written by Mitchel Scanlon - I read one of his Horus Heresy books before, and it was utterly dire. Does anyone know if this is better? (I actually have a pdf of it, but much prefer to read printed books, and don't really fancy having to read the pdf to decide if I then want the book too!)
