I've not painted in months now. Had my final term/year for uni so was swamped and was mucked about badly by the company I was working for, even though my contract with them was up. Along with having been stuck at home for pretty much the whole of the last 14 months, I finally had the last couple of weeks off and just couldn't get back into it. So rather sit and paint nothing I at least slowly started getting into building a whole bunch of stuff. I brought an awful lot of recent undead kits for AoS and was very pleasantly surprised that all the ones I brought fit the old basing sizes without any effort. I love the new dire wolves, I've seen a few people say they are a bit cartoony but putting them together was fun and they are really nice models, very few mould lines, as are the new fell bats (You can just squeeze them on a 40mm base but I'll probably put them on 50mms as they are large). I also brought Belladamma Volga, which at €40 (I did get her at a slight discount) isn't cheap for one hero but she is able to be broken down in to individual models nicely. She just fits on a 25x50mm base at a push, though I'll probably base her on a 50mm and have her count as two bases of dire wolves for my undead. Her 2nd wolf is the same size as the dire wolves and they there is the large tree & rock left over from the kit to make some nice scatter terrain. So expensive, but I'm getting my moneys worth from it! As I've been in to much of a funk to paint, I didn't want to touch my Albions or my Averland projects, both are passion projects and I didn't want to risk messing something up and being more put off working on them. So tide me over and get me back into painting I thought about putting together a small force of Middenheim troops and hunters. I picked up the WFRP Middenheim book and was really enjoying it so thought it would be a nice mini project to ease back into it. I'd managed to pick up a box of Knights of the White wolf for €10 from a car boot sale a while back and so need to hook them out. I've put together a unit of skirmish forest hunters (From the Cult of Ulric list I think from back in 6th Ed annuals) mostly from oathmark & frostgrave kits, though I was a couple of arms short and will have to raid the bits box for some later on. I'm thinking of chancing 25mm for most of my new models going forward. They give you more base to mess about with, easier to rank up and between working from home and covid, its not like we are getting in many games now anyway, so chances are many of these armies are years off from seeing use on the tabletop sadly. I've also had to put a miniatures buying block on myself for now! I had to tidy up a bit, I start my new job tomorrow and I'd been using my small office corner to dump orders that had come in over the past few months- I've been buying up tons up of stuff but being so busy with work/uni I'd not noticed just how much had been coming in! Need to get it all painted so I can get it stored away nicely!

Nice usage of the Oathmark Human Infantry! One thing I like about that kit is that it actually gives them a bit of a Celtic feel with the big moustaches and trousers, so perhaps some of those would also somehow fit your Albion Force!

I've got some more sets on the way, picked up another order with northstar with their 5 for 4 deal, so yeah these will end up in Albion force for sure!
I'm still messing about with some of the detailing, but I've converted a new model for my Goblins; The great goblin king of Albion.
Riding to battle on a stolen chariot, which is pulled by his loyal (and rather well fed and fattened) wolves, Gristle & Viscera, and accompanied by Smaksak his Snotling hornblower & standard bearer. Skragnit, the Great Goblin King of Albion has summoned the most loyal of his Wolf Lords and is preparing to move against his enemies. The Dwarves. and the Elves. And the Humans. And the Vampire Lords. And the Lords of Chaos. And the other Greenskins. Oh, and that Goblin that looked at 'im funny last night. In fact, pretty much anyone and everyone in Albion. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to paint him. I've gotten kind of comfortable with my painting style in recent years, enough so that I've been happy with the results. But I was looking over some of the old Warseer WFB logs last night and I had a huge ping of nostalgia seeing all the old style painting. The more gritty, realistic (well, as realistic as you can be for fantasy!) look has always alluded me and I've tried many times to capture it in my own painting and falling way short. I've been mulling over old, old copies of White Dwarf and I just can't work out how to imitate that old chaotic looking style. But I'd love to bring a more gritty paint scheme into this model. (This would come at the risk at wanting to repaint my more cartoony styled goblins!) I have another copy of the gloomspite boss and whilst I was originally going to give him the Necromunda treatment, I will probably make another version of the Goblin King on Foot. In fact, it's likely I will buy another starter set and end up with a 3rd as well so will end up with a mounted squig version as well!

Nice chariot, really like that horn blower. Seems like Skragnit may bite off more than he can chew with that many enemies mind!

I'm massively behind with this years painting. I've damaged my eye quite badly, somewhat in thanks to spending close to two years at home stuck behind a screen. So been finding painting very difficult as of late. Been painting when I can manage though, but have mostly painted some odd characters and terrain for our '95 Necromunda campaign as its been easier than trying to batch paint units for fantasy. (Haven't stopped buying more units though! I've very close to having collected all the old classic minis I've been after now! Finally got all but one mini for my dark elves that I've been chasing, so looking forward to finally getting to start on that project properly!) Still putting paint to fantasy units when I'm able. Been slowly working on bits n bobs when I can. Been working on and off on this snotling pump wagon for months, when ever I can manage five miniatures on it! Getting close to finished- got a couple more snotlings left to do as I want to cram more on there and then the base. Colours are a little washed out and its difficult to get the camera into focus (again with my eye) so apologies for the wonkyness. The wheel made from a shield has been done in my dwarves colour scheme- something they are not too pleased about! Originally the wizard snotling was going to go in the big unit of goblins, but he looked so good on top, so I'll have to paint up another to pop in the unit now! Everything from the new plastic blood bowl kit, I've another couple of the kits stashed away and I might pick up a couple more and just keep adding snotling swarms!

Nice work, I look forward to seeing the wagon finished. Blood bowl pump wagon right? Hi Markdienekes, sorry for the very, very late reply to this thread but yes! I raided the blood bowl kit for snotlings and pump wagons! ===================== Been a long while since I updated this thread. Its taking me ages to anything done mainly due to the eye injury and then the whole family has been ill over christmas for the 2nd year in a row! I've been dipping in and out of working on a HUGE lord of the rings project through out the year as well, when I have the energy! But I did get a little more done on my Slaanesh Mortals Army just before the holidays. I still have the shields to do for the spearman unit (which I'm dreading as the rounded shape is going to be a huge paint to paint to match the colours!) There are still some small details to do on them too, but would rather have them 'battle ready' and go back to them at a later date!I also settled on the odd blue/purple basing scheme, which looks a lot less 'painted' in real life! I was going to a bizarre chaos wastelands theme. I'll add this to the missing basing areas on the bigger models when I do the next batch! I'm working on cleaning up the mass of Dark elf infantry I got for christmas and I really, really want to try getting some stuff knocked off the 'WiP shelf' and onto the 'completed shelf' this year.

Love the chariot and pump wagon! And those ´omans look real nice, great purple. And the gold. Thank you! I'm really pleased with my purples! Just a shame I'll have to alter the scheme again as again GW have changed their paint line! I have one more snotling to paint for the pump wagon, I really should make time to do it so I can finish it off!

Absolutely nice conversion. The goblin chariots are simply great👍 Thanks very much! I'm back at chipping away at my goblins! I'm determined to make a dent in my wolf rider themed units this year! I've another of the same chariots being done now, but sadly the crew I picked for them won't actually fit this time! Going to have to rethink this one!
