That is one great model and paint job! My wallet want me to stay away from empire for a while Empire really does get quite addictive! They've been my favorite for a long time. 😊

I repainted this old General of Middenheim. I love this model. He works well as either a General on Griffon or a Captain on Pegasus. Glad to finally get him some well-waited-for paint. I really like the white armor, good choice! Now i want to find a model i can try it on, did you use any wash for it?

I started with a black primer, then coated his armor with a light gray base, then the new Wraithbone layering that (this is most of the color you see), and then edge it with white. I've done other models by watering down a light gray as a wash over white, but that method doesn't even come close to these results. So much more control. It was a one-off model done like this, so I felt justified in this method. If it had been an entire unit..... I'd love to see if you come up with something a bit different though! Let me know what you end up doing!

The chequerboard is awesome buddy. Do you start with a white undercoat and pencil in the design?

I'd say the hardest part was keeping the checkerboard lines consistent. You can see from front to back they get larger. Lol! Oh well, I was getting tired by the time I got to the back, I suppose. Still pleased with the results. This is the first time I've tried to make a checkerboard pattern.

I like the effect tbh, You've done a grand enough job that it feels like its part of the design and not because they got larger by mistake! It gives him some more visual interest!

Just put together another 10 of these Fantastics. That'll bring me to 40 total. Now I just need to paint them up.

I've never used any Flagellants, they are an interesting unit though

I love that kit. I was so pleased when it survived the recent purge. I'd grabbed a couple of sets during the last chance to order empire as I didn't own any and expected it to go.
