Hi all,
As the original Rhinox Riders from Forge World sell at insane prices on eBay, I'm looking for alternative models. Today I saw a Thunderlord being sold for 98,- €! I've already looked through Mierce Miniature, but without any luck.
Do you guys know of any alternatives?

Titanforge (but they are not "classic", they are "pirate themed" instead) - Gator team and Komodo riders. Perhaps they are seem more like Mournfang rather than Rhinox, I don't know. Also see that thread: eefl.freeforums.net/thread/1630/alternative-ogre-biggiesAnd this: www.the-ninth-age.com/community/lexicon/index.php?lexicon/471-ogre-khans-ok/Also see many 3d printing studios.

Thank you for the tip with Titanforge! The croc riders might be a bit too piraty for my taste, but I found some other candidates worth considering. titan-forge.com/220-wakaturu-tribeMaybe unsure about the size - are they big enough? And they are going to require quite a lot of GS work.

Also you may use Rhinox from OK Scraplauncher/Ironblaster kit, aren't you? And what about mournfangs? Let's say we'll cut mount in half to lengthen it with greenstuff and add some to make them thicker/fatter. Perhaps AoS Gore-gruntas kit is ok for that "crazy conversion" variant as well. (I haven't seen Rhinox rider before, so I can't compare, sadly).

The Scraplauncher/Ironblaster are pulled by Rhinox calfs, so it would have to be made twice as big. The original Rhinox from Forgeworld pretty much fills a 100x50 base. So there would be a lot of GS modelling needed. These look good, but should be about 80% larger. LinkAnd it would still take a lot of GS to fit a rider and add details. It would be so much easier if FW would just start selling the Rhinox kits again...

I assume Forge World will re-release all their WFB kits once the Old World comes out.

Yeah, I sent them a mail and asked about availability. I got a "currently not listed, but never say never" response.
So who knows, maybe in 1-2 years...

Artisan guild-Frostmetal clan, armored frost horn (&rider). Don’t remember what scale I printed at but I have an elegoo mars and basically did the largest I could make. It fits a 100x50 perfectly.

Yeah, I tried my hand at making a lone Rhinox Rider a couple of years ago using the Iron blaster kit. It's totally too small. I use him as a cheaper mount for a Hunter, but if I were going for a whole unit of them, I'd want bigger. Something else you'll have to consider is how you'll mount the Ogre. I had to get some seats from the Mournfang kit off eBay, and even then, they didn't match the curvature of the Rhinox's back. I had to really layer up a wad of Green Stuff to make it level. Just be prepared for some serious GS work.

In 2020, I got 3 Forge World Rhinox Riders for a total of 40 euros on ebay...

Yeah, when i first saw it 3-4 hours before end of auction the price was around 40€. Then the last 15 minutes the price just sky-rocketed. The "buy now" offers i found on eBay were all >140€ for one model. Totally crazy.

Just be prepared for some serious GS work. If/when I find a proper sized mount I'm thinking of changing the posture of the rider's legs. Like on the original RR. It will probably also require a lot of GS, but its worth a try.
