Just wondering if you could make the Lord on Hippogryph a viable option, if you give him the Sirienne's Locket. The lord will only suffer 1 wound per Round from non magic sources. This would make him quite tanky or am I interpreting this rule the wrong way?

Without looking at the item, would this only impact the rider and not the Hippogryph? So a cannon could kill the bird but not the rider?

Only the rider I would think, unless it specifies it affects both.
Might be better on a peg lord, to keep the profiles together? Armour of the midnight sun too, for minus 1 to hit.
Expensive though

Ok, thanks for the clarification! I was not sure if it will count for both. The text does not mention if it affects the monster as well. Too bad, I was hoping this could make the Lord on Hippogryph playable... But I will give it a try with the Pegasus Lord.

To be fair, I don't think it would work any better on the Peg as the lord/hero is on a Royal Peg so they still have separate profiles and not the combined one of the standard peg knights

You cannot wound them separately, so the Lord on Royal Peg model benefits as a a whole from the Locket.

What are people's view on the blessing improvers (Dragon's Claw / Virtue of Purity / Grail Shield) on a Hippogryph? Given the Hippgryph "gains the benefit of the blessing as long as their rider is affected", I'd say these improvements should also cover the hippogriff. (as it never has a ward of it's own, it's using the blessing of the character). A Hippogryph with a 4+ ward save starts to feel a bit more of a solid option. Thoughts?

Here is one we prepared earlier. Imperial Griffons are far too squishy for me to take them, but the Hippogryphs have worse stats and are more expensive. I am afraid, the Grail Shield will not help. Bretonnia Official Update Version 1.6, p.2: Q: Do the benefits of the Grail Shield, Dragonâs Claw, or Virtue of Purity apply to the characterâs mount? (p59, 61, 62) A: No. A unit (or two) of Peasant Bowmen with Defensive Stakes in front of your Lord on Hippogryph should at least save them for one round from cannon fire.
