Now the following 'aint Beastmen or Chaos, but was my original love. In fact, Dwarfs are probably my favorites, but don't tell the beastie boys, or there might be a riot in the display case. Most of these I didn't paint, I got one lot off someone from ebay (you'll tell by the basing) and another with the blue and white shields off someone else. But two units were painted by me before I got to my Beastmen, still look fine on the tabletop. I have plenty of Dwarf models to paint from the 80s and 90s, so, to mix in with my Beastmen/Chaos, I think I need to get to painting some dwarfs. This is my army that is ready and painted. It took part in a 3k battle against Orcs and Goblins on Monday, (pictures in the thread), which turned out to be a victory for the bearded army, but a costly one. And the battle: My brother was really unlucky with his fanatics, which didn't kill dwarfs, but did manage to kill lots of Orcs and Goblins. Anyhow, I look forward to adding to this army more of my own painted units. The guys who painted this lot, and the orcs etc, had done a fine job.

Looks like a cracking old school Dwarfs vs Orcs game there, good to see. Always nice to see a dwarf win too ;-)

Dwarfs are my first and favourite army too- love that Blue & White colourscheme! Great battle pictures too- love the scenery, and nice to see those orcs n Goblins sent home! Also nice to see the Slayers get into action with a worthy opponent!

Classic metal chunky dwarfs are the best.

How did I miss THIS thread?
If I ever needed motivation to finish my throng this is absolutely what would push me.
Truly inspirational.

Great to see Dwarf miniatures right from 4th Edition all the way up to late 6th/7th in your throng!
I also am among those who got into the Sons of Grungni as their first army, and it warms my heart to see another grudge against the Greenskins settled.
Also I notice a copy of the 7th Edition rulebook and the 7th Orcs and Goblins army book in one of the pics, I presume your game against your brother was a 7th Edition one?

Thanks guys! Yes, 7th edition, with a few home brew rules. It was great bringing the Dwarfs out again.

Very smart- is that a repaint of an existing mini, or is it the start of a new regiment?

Cheers! Start of bulking up my 20 man ironbreakers. I've tried to mirror the style of the ones I had bought years ago before I ever thought I'd ever actually paint anything, I think he looks almost like them!
