Why the Uncanny senses out of curiosity? A spare 10pts and it raises his initiative to 6, so most elves (bar characters) won’t get rerolls against him

The Road to Riotville. Having completely forgotten that it was Riotville this weekend (I blame the clusterfuck that is work at the minute), I was completely unprepared and utterly failed to paint up any of the Lizardmen for the possible lists I wanted to take. So instead I’ll be falling back on the tried and tested Beastmen for the 1800pt event. This will undoubtedly please quenelles84 as we’ve booked in to play our first game against each other (I think, if it’s who I think it is 😁) and it will be an epic showdown between the Brets and Beasts. In normal fashion I’ve put together 2 variations on the same list. They are fairly standard for me with a few differences. In both of these I’ve removed the magic items to not give everything away. GBS - chariotsA fairly standard list with plenty of chaff and a fair few chariots. I’m just a big fan of the Razorgor chariot, so had to have at least one list with it! I do have another variant of this list where I’ve dropped the Tuskgor chariot, a Razorgor and 1 Bestigor in order to fit in a second Razorgor chariot. I keep thinking if I bring enough chariots, I might actually become good at using them… Great Bray-Shaman: Level 4 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; Wargor: Battle Standard; heavy armour; shield; 38 Gors: Foe-render; Musician; Standard Bearer; additional hand weapon 329Tuskgor Chariot 80Tuskgor Chariot 805 Ungor Raiders 305 Ungor Raiders 30Razorgor 55Razorgor 5530 Bestigors: Gouge-horn; Musician; Standard Bearer 405Razorgor Chariot 1455 Harpies 551,800 points1800 Beasts CygorNot that dissimilar to the above but has the newly painted Cygor in it. Some of the magic items have been chopped and changed and a few things cut from the previous list out of a necessity as the monster is pricey when playing at these points! Great Bray-Shaman: Level 4 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; Wargor: Battle Standard; heavy armour; shield; 39 Gors: Foe-render; Musician; Standard Bearer; additional hand weapon 337Tuskgor Chariot 805 Ungor Raiders 305 Ungor Raiders 305 Harpies 5529 Bestigors: Gouge-horn; Musician; Standard Bearer 393Razorgor 55Cygor 2751,796 points

I like the first list better Knoffles! I am eventually going to make a razorgor chariot, I am not sold on razorgors without PF and a save! Let us all know how the event goes! Curious about what you took on characters

Curious about what you took on characters I have to say that I like the first list better from a competitive point of view, however I also have an urge to field the Cygor - new model syndrome . I cheated on the Razorgor chariot and just got these from Mierce and proxy the chariots. I've seen some really nice chariot conversions using the Mierce 'razorgor' though.

And I’ve lined up a game at the club on Friday and will be continuing my run of using a Razorgor unit badly but spicing it up this time with a double Cygor!
Fairly standard core. I’ve dropped the Bestigor, mainly to fit in the cygor. The Beastlord is to compensate for the missing standard of discipline and he is fielded cheap to add some high Str to the unit, especially with me finally dropping my normal 1+ beast banner! The only change to the list I’m seriously considering is to swop the lores on the shamans, taking shadow on the lvl 4 and beasts on the lvl1
This is roughly the list I’m planning on taking this time.
2500 Duel Cygor Razorgor Herd Beastmen
Beastlord: great weapon; Armour of Silvered Steel; Potion of Foolhardiness 207
Great Bray-Shaman: Level 4 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; Dispel Scroll; Fencer's Blades; Chalice of Dark Rain 335
Gorebull: Battle Standard; heavy armour; shield; Sword of Striking; Gnarled Hide; Dragonhelm 247
Bray-Shaman: Lore of Shadow; Power Stone; Ironcurse Icon 100
47 Gors: Foe-render; Musician; Standard Bearer; additional hand weapon 401
Tuskgor Chariot 80
Tuskgor Chariot 80
5 Ungor Raiders 30
5 Ungor Raiders 30
6 Razorgors 330
5 Harpies 55
Razorgor 55
Cygor 275
Cygor 275
2,500 points

knofflesThere are some about your last list "Double Cygor+pumbaherds". You are right, lvl 4 Shadow and lvl 1 Beasts will be much better. Perhaps it's will be better to take another lvl 1 Beasts with signature (we need to buff Gors and Pumbas as well), so make hero shaman cheap as possible (without any additional items). Also, about Beastlord - I'd take DestinyArmor instead of SilveredSteel.

Normally I do run destiny for the 4+/ 4++ but my ability to roll a 4+ on a single dice has been shocking recently, hence switching to a 2+ save instead 😁. Mind you, saying that, my opponent has a habit of bringing Empire with a runefang wielding general, so the ward save would probably be the smarter option.

In 6 turns, they only managed to hit one thing and with that one hit, only managed to cause a single wound on the steam tank! To be fair both mine and my opponents dice rolls were utterly terrible all game. I think for the first 3 turns, both our wizards failed to cast their first spells and lost concentration .

oh noooooo will you give them a second chance? :-) I definitely wil, as I liked the range threat they gave the army, something it is missing. For the first time using them, the Razorgor unit also actually survived! In fairness they still didn’t do a huge deal, bar kill a Empire volley gun and a unit of 3 Demigryphs. Also with the bulk of the characters in one unit, it ‘needs’ the crown of command to ensure it’s unlikely to break. It just gives me an excuse to tinker with lists again 😁
