Well, I suppose I poked around here more than once or twice, so might as well hop in and see what is going down! Hello everyone! Long time Warhammer player (Going on about 11ish years between 40k and Fantasy/AoS). I admit, I wasn't sure I wanted to hop into this, but I am a sucker for special projects and new ideas, so sure. I love Age of Sigmar, but I respect what the Old World was and still is. Honestly, with such massive differences between the two, I think there is a perfect room for both! Looking forward to seeing what I can find here and what the future may hold (Holding out for some awesome stuff from The Old World project from GW.) So, yeah, hope this forum is still pretty active, because I'll be poking around quite a bit. Sold my older armies off a few years back, but thanks to Cities of Sigmar and some random old stuff, I actually still have a fancy Empire army, with others like Dwarves and Elves with room to grow.....just need to sort out how to manage bases. *cough* Here here! I for one am certain that there is room in life for both AoS and 8th Edition, I do it myself and am glad to hear that others find their way from AoS to 8th. Welcome, I look forward to seeing pictures of your growing Army

Hey there everybody just recently found this forum. I am an 8th edition player located in in Portland, Oregon. Been playing fantasy since 6th edition with my best friend I think we've been playing for about 18 years now. We have several unassembled armies that we've purchased off eBay over the last couple years, all around 2000 points (Lizardmen, High Elves, Skaven, Dwarfs, Chaos)... but we made a rule several years back not to play with anything that's unpainted so our current three armies are Beastmen, The Empire, and Orcs and Goblins.
I am not much of a painter and usually am too busy to paint beaucause I work nights and train during the day but covid-19 completely shut down both of my jobs. With nothing to do I decided to commit to finishing and touching up all 2,000 points of my assembled Orcs and Goblins and managed to get it done last week!
My next project is going to be a 2000 point Slaanesh themed Chaos Warriors army, hoping to finish it before I go back to work! I'm in the middle of assembling them now. It's awesome seeing all the work everybody is doing on their models, it's got me motivated to get as much done as I can while I can't work!

Welcome Mr Blank , remigrudgebearer and sankakujime ! Mr Blank great to see a relative of an existing forumite join, I look forward to hearing your side of the stories of Horace 's batreps! remigrudgebearer I agree with you too, Fantasy's great, but I also think there's room for AoS alongside it, as it's a different game, especially as it's got much better than before. I personally don't like what GW did with Cities of Sigmar (I can see why they did it, but I hate how they hit Dwarfs, High Elves and Wood Elves hard with their cutbacks yet kept both Dark Elves and the Empire relatively intact, even though Dark Elves and Empire really don't fit well together - it's probably me as a Dwarf player grumbling like a Longbeard), but I look forward to seeing your minis and discussing stuff with you around the forum. I agree with you it's annoying about GW pandering about base sizes so that they force you to choose. I've kept my square bases on my Skaven and Goblins and use them as Skaven and Gloomspite Gitz for both Fantasy and AoS at home, and it honestly doesn't seem that much of an issue with the latter because any bonuses they may get from having slightly smaller bases (being slightly further away from enemy charges, easier to bunch in e.t.c) are counteracted by disadvantages (having to charge slightly further, e.t.c). Because I don't play at tournaments much anyway, I'm not going to go through all the pain of having to rebase my models just because GW say so!

Naitsabes so I actually tried to do this for like 10 mins and failed miserably, how do I add photos into a post in this forum? I made an imgur post to have a URL to try to link it but it wouldn't accept it I guess becuase I couldn't see it in the preview.

(and switch to BBcode on this forum as well. It's a tab towards the bottom of the text box for your post). Then delete the 's' from https and you should be good to go. Example: [img]http://i.imgur.com/e2w86MA.jpg[/img] and gives you this:

Hello all, I'm Luca from Italy. I found this forum while searching for inspiration for my Warriors of Chaos army. I am an 8th edition occasional player due to the lack of gaming partners. I manage to play some games with my wife (she is a cold blooded Lustrian Lizard women) and we are aiming to start a narrative campaign in September. My first and main army is WoC (circa 10000 points), but i own several smaller unpainted armies (beastmen, dwarfs, ogre Kingdom, vampire counts, orc and goblin) that I've collected during almost ten years in this wonderful hobby. I'm glad to have find a community focused on the 8th edition and with so many amazing project logs, battle reports and intresting threads to keep my passion for this game alive! Nice to meet you all and thank you to have allowed me to join this forum. Ciao, Luca!
