Q4: There is a type of magical forest (venom thicket?) that forces dangerous terrain checks when ANYONE moves through it Ah ha! This is indeed a relevant scenario. FYI, this would be a good place to situate your Wildwood Rangers.

Will lets get a game in against my Beastmen. They've got a swamp theme so may give you some ideas on basing.

wilsonthenarc Okay actually lets do it on a weekend so I don't have to figure out how to store my huge box of Beastmen while at work. As we talked about this week I've learned the hard way super glue and rochester winter weather are a bad combo Gary

Just reinstalled Tapatalk today, snapping some photos with my iPad to show WIP stuff. Been busy. Got a new photo booth in the upstairs of my barn... but we got like a foot of snow last night and it’s cold so I after an hour of snow blowing and then an hour of shoveling, I don’t feel like going outside right now.
I’ll stay inside and paint various shades of green whilst wearing slippers and sipping a 50/50 coffee hot cocoa all day with various “High Fantasy” movies on in the background.

Pictured: Waywatchers. I am holding myself to a well defined color palette for this army. --Dark Angles Green / Caliban Green for cloaks --Catachan Green / Castellan Green for bases and minor details --Warboss Green for shirts and fabrics You'll note the purple (yes, purple) hair. Intentional. I love the green & purple dynamic (clash?) But just in small doses. Like the hair.

Pictured: Old School (High Elf) White Lions of Chrace. Minis are circa 1998, as far as I know. See, the White Lions hunted, well... lions. So they accurately represent Monster Hunters. Therefore, these guys will be in my Wildwood Ranger unit. They're wearing animal pelts and everything, saying "Come at me, Bro".

Pictured: Old School UNIPOSE plastic Wood Elf Archers. These will represent my Eternal Guard. "But Will", I hear you say, "Eternal Guard are equipped with Spears and Shields?" Yes, true believer, you are 100% correct. For that reason I have gone in and modified all of my classic plastic unipose archers... (1) removed the bow, (2) drilled out the hand for a through hole, (3) added a spear, and (4) added a shield. The end result looks remarkably like the classic mini but they are now accurately armed for battle: The only downside here. I have these seven done... about 41 more to go. The conversion is relatively time consuming. But hopefully worth it.

Pictured (L to R): Wardancer; Wardancer Bladesinger; Scout This continues my "Purple Hair" concept. Even if you don't like it - spare my feelings, lie to me, and say it looks cool. This pic also shows the pearled/blue/turquoise/green metallic effect I am going for. This pic is kind of poop, quality wise... hope to follow up with better and higher res and crisper and cleaner. This unique metallic effect will be on all of my Wardancer and Waywatcher metal weapons. I am also dabbling with a "Bone" (Cracked Bone) effect on some swords and axes... No good WIP pic yet - still testing.

Pictued: Treeman The man. The myth. the legend. This guy is enormous. He's on a 100mm w x 50mm d base. The picture doesn't show his true scale very well. The "Mini" is actually a 6-armed skeleton toy that TheREALricksalamone gave me for my Tomb Kings army. Thanks BTW Rich!!!!! The vines are a combination of various gauges of electrical wire and some jewelers wire - Plus some of the new Citadel Vines (a new plastic kit they offer) - Plus a first pass of clumpy foliage flocking in the crevasses The giant hammer is scratch built. Will be adding bits and so forth as the job progresses. It is a piece of real wood for the handle; the hammer is all green stuff.

Pictured: A Hero of some sort. I just think this is a boss miniature.... no idea where I got it (sorry) or what line it's from. He's already got a cool spear. So... Probably will end up using him as a Glade Captain to lead the Eternal Guard. Even though the pic doesn't capture it, IRL, his purple hair looks pretty good. Also, he's carrying a Hark or Falcon of sort sort - CAW!!!

I love the treeman and the conversions on the single-pose archers are a great idea.
