Some W.I.P. shots on my desk and current work area, to prove I am still here and still doing work on this army. photos.app.goo.gl/1jUxB3ujyWEf1UyX9--I am still an epic failure for not being able to easily embed the image link right here.

As one travels down the River Ruin from North to South one will traverse the stinking Sulphur pits of the Desolation of Azgorh. Continue South and East, you will pass through Gnoblar Territory. As the mighty Ruin approaches it’s end destination of the Sea of Dread, it branches out. This fracturing and splintering of river channels is sometimes called the Scalded Delta. It is situated in between the occasional to semi-occasional stomping grounds (quite literally, stomping) of the Boulderbellies and Skraggleguts Ogre tribes.
Tucked in between the tendrils of the river delta are a multitude of swampy islands. To the common Ogres, the Gnoblars, and even by the Chaos Dwarfs that come down the river via boats - these islands are considered haunted. The Ogres speak of evil spirits that lurk in the shadows and of vines and mosses that come to life, reach out, and suck unwitting mortals to their marshy doom. These my friends are the Direbog. Wet, swampy, dark, gloomy, full of shadow and yet full of life at the same time.
I am here to let you know, the Direbogs aren’t vacant. They are well populated. With what you may ask? Sure, many types of beasts. Elk, deer, moose, boar, turtles, crab, fish, and others. But very few mortals – if any – have ever seen the true inhabitants and lived to tell the tale. For within the Direbog lives an entire tribe of Elfs. An entire civilization.
Their true history may be lost deep in the loam of the Direbog. Perhaps they came from a High Elf settlement on the Dragon Isles. Perhaps they are a tribe that migrated across the world from Athel Loren. Travelers tell that they are Druids. Totally committed to their own unique religion, magics, gods, goddesses and worship of Evolution. The denizens of the Old World simply do not know an extensive amount of information regarding the Druids of Direbog, much less where they came from once upon a time.
The Druids of Direbog worship the triad of Life, Growth, and Evolution. All three of those “human” words mean similar yet different things to the Druids. It is all very nuanced. They create life, they cultivate creatures, they tinker with the very fabric of organic materials. There are whispers as to what these druids do. Is it necromancy? Is it vivisection? Would we say their handiworks are alive or dead? Are they plant or animal? These are the unanswered questions that float around the Direbog. In the muck and the mire.

A unit of 15 Wardancers. Miniatures are a mix and match hodge podge of stuff I really like. Various manufacturers.

A unit of 15 Wildwood Rangers. A variety of miniatures... some old 1996 HE White Lion Metals, a plastic SwordMaster champion, and some "Elf Noble" Miniatures I bought once upon a time and converted. Note the dude in the back ranks, on a 40mm x 40mm base. He is beheading a purple forest dragon with his halberd. Kinda cool. Working on the blood, this picture doesn't show that well, but y'all can see it IRL this weekend.

Tree Kin. Unit 1 of 3. Each of these units feature an actual "wooden" Tree Man miniature as the Tree Kin Elder (Unit Champion) along with 2 "Mutant" Tree Kin. In this case, the Elder is actually the old metal Durthru model form GW. The mutants are custom pieces I scratch built with skeletons, vines, weapons, and all sorts of bits.

Tree Kin. Unit 2 of 3. The idea with these three units was to highlight the mutants. They are the twisted experiments of the Swamp Elf Sorcerers. Think (if you've ever read it) The Island of Dr. Moreau. The Elves found dead or dying ogres. They spliced Ogre body material with crab and fish and boar and vine and plant. The result is these.... things. Note the unit champ here is a Bones mini.

Tree Kin. Unit 3 of 3. Highlighting the bits here, I see an old Slaanesh claw of some sort. I see a Bugbear arm from a Bones mini. The icy blue swords have a crackle effect applied to them. Supposed to look non-metallic. Still tinkering with that color and that effect. Again, these are mutated lab experiments, so I have no idea what type of weapon (in any??) they would be equipped with. Thoughts? The unit champ is an old metal GW TreeMan. He's my least favorite of the three unit champs.

TreeMan. Base model courtesy of Rick S. (aka TheREALricksalamone). Thanks dude! I added the hammer, the vines, etc. This is essentially the vision of tree things in my army. Half skeletal, half swamp... A weird experiment in necromancy, evolution, gardening, and mutation all at the same time. A regular scale WE warrior shown for scale.
