Those are actually nice sets, though. The Start Collecting boxes are always a good deal and those are good old Fantasy models, none of the new AoS stuff. I could see myself getting both of them at some point.

I could see myself getting both of them at some point. I’m not a fan of the dwarf one, but ONLY because I wouldn’t buy it more than once. I don’t play those filthy dark elves so I’m not too sure about that box, but you do get a sweet hydra!

If we're complaining about names, "Anvilgard" sounds like it should have been for the Dawi, not the Elves! Dwarves love their anvils! I'm sure they'll be decent value boxes, as always. It's a pity that they have so few models in - the old WFB Battalion boxes were (usually) much more useful as they contained a couple of decent sized infantry blocks. You could also (usually) pick up multiples to quickly bulk up an army, whereas the AoS ones have character models in, so they don't work so well in multiples. Having said that, for these two boxes it's not too bad - Belegar is easily convertible, and it shouldn't be too hard to turn Grimm Burlocksson into another engineer (he has two hand options for left and right). It's the Druchii box where a second Fleetmaster is wasted (and the first too, as a Black Ark Fleetmaster is terrible, and an otherwise decent model is ruined by the sword leg).

You can convert the leg easily enough. I think the starter sets are lazy af. And the names are quite possibly the wrong way around!

Dang. I wouldn't mind having either one of those, but I'm sure they'll come in at a price that I just won't be able to justify for only 13 models. ☹️

All the Start Collecting boxes are £50 - 60 (85 - 95 USD), so the new ones should be within that range. They're always good value compared to buying the models separately - even if you don't want everything they're often worth it for the big kits - the Dark Elf one is more than worth it for the Hydra/Chariot alone.
Dark Elf box: Hydra - £40 Chariot - £27.50 Corsairs - £17.50 Fleetmaster - £15 Total "value" - £100
Dwarves: Ironbreakers - £30 Gyro - £30 Belegar - £15 Grimm - £15 Total "value" - £90
Plus Start Collecting boxes are available from independent retailers, who (in the UK at least) offer a substantial discount - often up to 25%. So if the Druchii box is £60, you could get £100 worth of models for £45.
I remember the Lizardmen one came out at £50 with a Carnosaur in it, the same cost as buying a Carnosaur on its own!

Belegar comes with an awesome Oathstone. It's one of my favourite bits in the entire dwarf range.
The Dark Elf one isn't bad with a Hydra and Chariot included.

I just bought a DE chariot... should have waited Buy another! The Cold One Chariots are good in multiples. The Scourgerunners... not so much. Having said that, with 40 Corsairs already, a Kharibdyss, and three different Hydras, I don't think I'll be picking this one up.

I'd be very curious to see, if you do decide to go for that pairing, strutsagget. Currently, I only have one Cold One Chariot, 2 Kharibdyss' and one Hydra, so I could definitely use another CO Chariot and Hydra, but my Hydra is the older style, which I VERY MUCH prefer to the new one. (It just reminds me of "Little Shop of Horrors".)

well...guess I'll be buying that dark elf start collecting a few times. I've been wanting another few hydras, and I could get mileage out of those chariots. And I only have like...20 Corsairs so that's good that I can easily get more.
I've been wanting to do a dnd session where the party comes across a trio of hydras - with these I'll be able to.
