I've been eyeing up the 30K Dark Angels - they're gorgeous models, but I can't justify it when I haven't touched by 40k Dark Angels for years.

Was supposed to get 20 squigs and three Stone Trolls early autumn but the local store forgot over and over to order.. So I gave up and did not paint during the autumn anyways.. But Yesterday I ordered 10 squigs and three River Trolls (Fellwater Troggoths?).. The Trolls need to pop in from the Uk so 1-2 weeks.. But I am looking forward to that. Late Christmas present for myself..

Ordered one of the "Mystery Dropbox" from GW, the AoS/Order one. Speculating on some old WHF kits. Today I got the delivery message, so with some luck it will be here end of this week. Will keep you updated!

Mallo - that pile is obscene! And great! How long do you reckon it'll take to build all of that? Well I've cracked on and the outlook is....not great! Took me three evenings to clean up two of those boxes of dreadspears. Its definitely very old WFB stock. The plastic is really odd, its kind of brittle and when you scrape it, its not removing the mould lines as you'd expect from GW plastic. Its almost closure to cleaning up something like warlord resin or restic. Not fun. But the worst is over. I have the parts for a full 20 unit done and I don't think it will take anywhere near that time to build them! I started on the third set too and the plastic seems better after only a couple of parts, more like what you'd expect for GW plastic.

Yesterday on the 'bay: shot me some reasonably cheap 5th edition armybook for High Elves, as well as the blind Eltharion model (from 6th?).

Today on the 'bay: a 4th/5th edition Dwarf Bolt Thrower and a bunch of Wood Elves from the same era. Yeah, my "buy less stuff" is going... great.

I went mad over Christmas, brought everything for the two warlord games 2000ad games as I wasn't sure how much longer they were going to be around. So I promised to take it easy this year, at least until I have painting going again and felt like I was making a dent in the backlog. Then yesterday I ended up going for a really good deal on a mix of some of the more expensive Empire bits and a dogs of war unit.

I ordered another box of halberdiers, pistoliers (just in case they pull the range), as well as the ghoul king on throne and some paint.

I ordered another box of halberdiers, pistoliers (just in case they pull the range), as well as the ghoul king on throne and some paint. Yeah I might have to get another pistoliers set also, I got two boxes last year but I want some extras as I know if they pull them I will want a couple more. I wanted the Ghoul king but its a minefield to order from now. If I buy anything else to hit the €50 minimum for free postage and it goes out of stock during the 180 days, they don't keep the stock back but continue to sell it. I've lost out on a couple of LE books, HH stuff and random models so many times now because of this. But paying for postage is almost as much as spending the full €50 anyway! I've been using paints to fill up orders, as they are the only thing not likely to go out of stock for huge periods of time! But as I'm sick of them changing their paint line, I've been moving away from their paints and their is only three or four of theirs I rely on now! Theres only so many more pots of Pallid wych flesh I can reasonable order to get that free postage now! I wish they would come out and say what is being removed from the CoS line now. Give us a chance to panic buy what we might want and not rush with stuff that will be around a while!

Mallo you are spot on with the paint being to bump up for the postage 😁. I just wish GW would even go back to doing last chance to orders, rather than just removing ranges/units with no heads up.

Possibly some more 5th edition models. Maybe Skaven. Could be High Elves.

Some good, some bad this week! The good, I was finally able to chase down a set of these bad boys from the moot! Was not cheap, but to finally get them in my hands for real was great! They are really nice sculpts, very iconic warhammer I think. I love all the extra details they have, without being too cluttered or overly designed! I did think his shield was missing (The little dartboard!) and I was like, well easy enough to replace but I was really hoping to have a complete set. Then something ping in my brain, check under the polystyrene! And there it was! The bad. I brought a Empire war wagon, I'd always wanted one and seeing them go up and up in price in the last year I thought better now than when the old world comes out and we get a rush on 2nd hand minis. I paid way over the normal cost of the model, it was brand new in box and I really wanted it as a complete display piece for the hobby room. But the box arrived having been totally crumpled on route. The outbox had clearly been kicked in by the postal service. Some parts are missing, though thankfully its parts easy enough to replace out of my spares (Some wheels, some bases), the metal is thankfully all there. But the box is in a state and not at all worth the extra money I paid for it, even if it is just a bit of card at the end of the day. I'm too annoyed with it right now, I've reached out to the person I've brought it from and looking to see what can be done but I'll probably take the loss on it as the model is intact. But still deflating. Still, nice to have the model in my collection. I'll save it to paint once I've gotten through the nightmare of painting the similar models- the war altars, hurricanums and luminarks. Those things scare me, which is why I'm putting them off!
