The bit I’ve move on to, is having boxes of unpainted/built minis, not just the unpainted but built plastic. I blame GW for randomly discontinuing ranges/models I really want so just making sure I have everything for when it’s needed. This can be classed as a mountain of opportunity or an investment…

The same reason why I added Karl Franz, a Steam Tank and 20 Greatswords to my almost unpainted Empire army... you never know which model set will disappear next. |

As tempting as the Skaven battleforce was, I’ve held off starting another new army (starting or perhaps fully committing to is more accurate) and instead preordered the latest blood bowl almanac as a Xmas pressie to me from the missies.

Got a great deal on ebay. The description stated "bretonia miniatures 60-80 models". When checking the pictures, one could see that the majority was empire units and only a few bitz for the brets.
The great thing was, it contained bitz for the old state troops and militia. I got the deal for 70€ and was super exited when the package arrived yesterday. It contained enough parts to build 10 Militia men and 100 state troops.
Really happy with the deal. I can't help but the "new" state troop models don't have the esthetics of proper empire soldiers from my point of view.

I told myself 3 years ago I would not buy a single miniature until I had painted the ones I have.
For 3 years I bought nothing.
A couple of weeks ago I bought about 70 dwarfs to add to the over 2000 I already have unpainted.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a good festive season/enjoyable winter so far! I've not kept up with either posting or with my painting, I'm still holding out for an eye operation (Our entire healthcare system is still in ruins!) and for the 2nd year in a row the entire family was sick over Christmas. I have been dipping in and out of my HUGE lord of the rings project, and I did get a little bit more done on the Slaanesh mortals armies, but thats all the energy I've found for the last 6 months of the year! Didn't stop me buying though! (Therapeutic retail therapy!). My other half brought me a batch of stuff direct from GW, I fear that many of the old world items will be retired soon and I still had some big gaps in my collection that were still available in the Cities of Sigmar stuff. But with the new CoS book/models coming very soon, I suspect it will see a lot of these kits gone. So I wanted to fill the last of the gaps.  Thats 60 more dreadspears (meaning a unit of 20 of each of the Dark Elf basic troop types + the extra 2 boxes I had before to make a big spear unit.) (Old, old stock by the looks of it. Still had the square bases and WFB instructions!) 10 more Dark riders. 20 longbeards 20 more Goblins (I also brought a couple of the recent underworld sets, which can be pulled apart for a ton of Night Goblin heroes!) 20 Shadow warriors (They came in actual WFB boxes, which was a nice bonus!) A beast of Nurgle (MTO) 10 Pink horrors (MTO) 3 Flamers (MTO) She also got me the big battleforce of ghosts, so I could finally have a black coach! The rest of the ghosts will be added to my small ghost 'counts as skeletons' army. I also brought myself another of the empire engineer on mechanical horses. The first one I got only had one weapon left from the selection and was missing the small reigns part and the big basing piece.It was super cheap due to the missing bits. I brought this new one as it had the full set of weapons and looked to be complete. Only when it arrived it was also missing the reign part! My own fault for not scrutinising the photos of the listing better. I'd had hoped to mould the missing bits and make two full ones, now it looks like I'm going to end up with a full unit of them before I finally get all the pieces to make one whole one! |

Mallo - that pile is obscene! And great! How long do you reckon it'll take to build all of that? I may have just bought a stupidly expensive single forgeworld character model for my space marines (not a primarch) but I loved the sculpt and wanted to use the paladin as a company champion. Corswain?

Corswain? Yep. He will have the helmet option as I’m not a fan of faces on Marines. |
