Where have these models been all my life: I hated the previous Dire Wolves, so originally bought some Fenrisian Wolves to use for my Undead. They're great, but expensive and 5 wasn't enough. So I then bought Chaos Warhounds to use as Dire Wolves, but really... the warhounds aren't great looking either. I then finally relented and bought the old crappy Dire Wolves, so of course the amazing new kit came out shortly afterwards. I love these models. All they need is a simple paint job of black fur, red gore and white bone to look fantastic.

That champion wooflord is the best with its raised head pose.

Another Varghulf: This is Mierce's "Thrada, Cavern Nihtbat". It's a chunky model but really easy to paint. Here's a family photo with my other Varghulfs: Hamster, Bat and Wolf.

Holy crap what a beast that thing is. Great comparison picture with the 3 of them. The cursed city model actually looks bigger than the standard Varghulf as well.
Great addition to your force.

Thanks! The Cursed City one is taller but a lot scrawnier than the original chunky hamster Varghulf.

It really is - my wife actually likes it, which is rare for a model that doesn't look like Legolas.

These are great. I'm finding the newer GW minis very hit or miss for me. The junior vampires are definite hits, and you've done a lovely job with everything here.

More Zombies! These are 36 of the newer Games Workshop zombies - 15 from Cursed City, 20 from the "Deadwalker Zombies" kit, plus 1 zombie cat also from Cursed City: The grave markers on the back of some of them are amusing... but overdone. Like a few in a unit is okay (as in the Deadwalker Zombies kit) but the fact all the Cursed City ones had them was a bit silly. I cut a couple off, but they weren't simply to remove, so I left the rest on. The tree roots going through them are similar - fun in places, but not on every last model. Having said that, the Deadwalker Zombies kit is great regardless, and there are some really characterful looking zombies in there. I can now field a unit of 116 zombies (a few unit fillers in there). I have 2 zombie ogres and 2 zombie horses still to add to the collection at some point.

That's a great looking ~100pts. A lot of neat details and you did a good job picking them out. Cutting down a bit on the crap these poor wretches have to lug around worked out well And you know, anybody can claim to have 116 painted zombies. But few actually go through the trouble to prove it. Are you among the few? (Really I just want to see how well the old big hands dudes mix with the new guys when a nice consistent paint scheme is applied)
