You seem to be missing Horace's and my point. According to the conversion table strutsagget provided in the thread linked above, the official base size for Settra was 100x100mm. KevinC seems to have thought the same. If GW had indeed ever provided Settra with such a base (but apparently they did not), then the FAQ would have been null and void. Curious. Where was the information in the conversion table collected from? I don't think GW ever released such information (although I am open to the possibility that I am mistaken). Is it possible that the table is incorrect? I've only seen a few Settra's and they all came with that chariot + 2x cavalry base setup. That is not to say that none were ever released with a 100x100mm base, but if they were, it would have been a small minority of them. Difficult to prove, and anecdotal at best; especially in the face of such a definitive FAQ statement. Either way, it doesn't prevent us from throwing the RAW ruling out in this instance. If it were me, I'd probably place Settra on the side of the unit, but if my opponent wanted to field him within the unit I wouldn't object.

Pah, that faq is clearly misinformation spread by Arkhan the Black or some other agent of the Usurper. Settra rides however he wants to ride! -----------------Funny you mention Arkhan, because he too may ride a chariot pulled by 4 steeds (and can fly!).

ugh. that wasn't the nicest model in their line-up. Are there 8th edition rules? sorry for the thread derail.

The conversion chart itself is not official, but fan-made; and since we already have established that GW did not supply Settra ever with a 100x100mm base ( sedge's post clinched that), it obviously contains errors.

Indeed, imo the AOS Mortarch model does a decent proxy job of the flying chariot.

------------You're talking about Arkhan? The original Arkhan model is one of my all time favorite models. He was release just before the original Undead army book for WFB 4th edition. Arkhan is in the 8th Ed. Tomb Kings army book and he has the option of riding his original chariot (though the chariot profile is disappointing - S4, T4, W3)

I wouldn't field him on a chariot though!
