Painting a razorgor at the moment instead of the shaman. Not going well. Should have also learned how to use green stuff. Trial hog I shall call it.

Which Razorgor model? One of the old GW Pumbagors?

Yes, one of the old Pumbagors! Not the best model in my opinion, but it looks mad as hell.

Made a total mess of it. Seems I really am struggling with smoothness of skin colours. I've tried watering it down on the wet pallete but just couldn't find the right consistency. Bloomin blotchy, smeary mess, haha! Waiting to finish the basing but it definitely should only see the light of day when no one is around! Anyone good with a pallid elf flesh mix ratio going on top of a rakarth flesh, reikland fleshshade base, for future reference? It would be greatly appreciated!

Got an airbrush for basecoats?? Other wise I try and do 1-2 medium think coats with a 1 or 2 brush. Sorry I’m not super helpful.

Hey, no, I just use an old-fashioned brush, but it may as well be a mop after this one, hehe. Thanks. I tried a couple of coats, but some areas needed more work and I ended up with it like this. Oh well, live and learn, and from tabletop distance, he's perfectly serviceable. Apologies for disturbing eyes with this stuff, but thanks for looking! The army painting attempt continues, probably with a shaman. I'm better with little guys!

It looks fine. This miniature is fugly. Take a look at my page and you can see my own attempts are feeble at making it look decent. However, getting smooth coats with light paints are problematic for me too. Took years of practice for me to feel competent, so don’t be hard on yourself.

Your ones are awesome fella! How are you getting on with the large monsters, the Cygors/ghorgons?

Looks good to me, that paintjob is a lot better than the sculpt itself! I might be tempted to add some wash to it to make it look a little les bright & clean, but probably better not listen to a mediocre painter like me. I would probably mess it up completely Don't know if it is something for you but I have used some 40k Thunderwolves as stand in razorgors since I couldn't bring myself to buying the official model EDIT here is a link in case you are interested in taking a look

I think you’ve painted up the Razorgor very well Markdienekes and I like the choice of colours you’ve used. I think as others have said it’s a difficult miniature to tackle.

I may try that (and I will listen, you're work on that link is brilliant!) I do like those wolves, but I may source some Mierce ones at some point. I have three GW razorgor, two single, one converted chariot, so I have a few more to paint, and may try a different approach with a more fleshy colour verging on red next time. Thanks for sharing the link, I really like your beastmen!
