I think you’ve painted up the Razorgor very well Markdienekes and I like the choice of colours you’ve used. I think as others have said it’s a difficult miniature to tackle. Thank you trollslayer! I have tried, which is the main thing! It's one hell of an ugly model.

Good looking chariot. That whip looks like the driver chopped a tentacle off a Spawn!

Haha, just got this comment on a warhammer facebook page about the recent chariot: 'You paint so well it's a shame you can't base mhh'. A compliment of kinds so happy he liked the painting...but nails my largest concern at the moment. How would you guys improve the basing? Less grass? Maybe I need to do more with the grass, like try and make it more upright? Maybe lots of grass is boring, hehe. Perhaps some more features? I tried to make it look like the chariot and boars were damaging the grass so left the sandy bits to just where they had ran over... But maybe I should stop painting the figures for now and just practice a bit of basing? Maybe some damaged, scattered weapons and such. Or texture paints may be interesting. Hmm, some things to think about. Hopefully it will all come together eventually!

I think you're doing fine with the tufts and rocks. The bases that only have grass could use a bit "something extra" but if they're standard rank 'n file, then I wouldn't worry about it. Just the occasional one needs something because it'll get lost in the mass of bodies.
Something that could easily help though, is adding some leaf foliage. That'll add another layer element to the bases so that they aren't one dimensional. I think you did great with your Razorgor base. Maybe you can add in random bits from your "leftovers box" to the bases as well if you want more elements, but that takes up a lot of time. By the time I've reached that point, I'm usually ready to be done with it! Lol!

I think the comment from the FB poster isn’t very helpful and think as well that your idea to break up the basing on the chariots as if there ripping up the ground is very good. I’d echo Mottdon thoughts on leaf foliage or maybe even using a snow scatter. Though overall I think your army is shaping up well and am looking forward to seeing more painted up.

I'll echo the comments above... Your bases are fine, and really the commenter on FB was less than helpful.
If you feel so inclined you could break up larger bases with rocks, broken shields, small incidental prices from your bits box however, if also be more than happy to put that chariot on the table, basing and all!
At the end of the day the only person who needs to be truley happy with it is you! ✌️

I'll be back on the painting soon, unfortunately I have been suffering a bout of face swelling which hurts my whole head and neck and leaves me looking like the elephant man, so I've managed to start but not finish base coating three ungors. Perhaps it is the Chaos gods bestowing gifts upon me for painting their children. If so, where are my horns damn it!
