I'll echo the comments above... Your bases are fine, and really the commenter on FB was less than helpful. If you feel so inclined you could break up larger bases with rocks, broken shields, small incidental prices from your bits box however, if also be more than happy to put that chariot on the table, basing and all! At the end of the day the only person who needs to be truley happy with it is you! ✌️ Cheers kamenrider! I am happy with them, but just worry the bases are a bit bland, but I am playing with more items at the moment such as rocks and tufts, so the journey continues.

I will remind you to keep the seasons in mind. Right now, you have a very Spring look going. I'd try to keep to that as much as possible, but don't break your back keeping to it.

Cheers mottdon, spring/summer is what I'm after - the spring leaves are a mix of greens and browns, whilst the summer leaves are yellows and browns. The grass I use is summer grass, so I may go for the yellow/brown ones. I'll get both and see which I'm happy with.

I'm working on spring style bases too. I think the important thing with grass is getting the variance in height that stops it looking like a lawn. Here's mine for what it's worth... Couple of different colour flower tufts, different sizes of grass tufts and clump foliage filled in with static grass. I use a heavy mix basing sand too so there's larger bits and lighter sand which give a bit of variety too. Couple of plastic 'bitz' on there too... Hope it's of a little help. Is it a bit busy? Yeah, maybe...but I think it looks ok and fits that spring motif I want

I think the comment from the FB poster isn’t very helpful and think as well that your idea to break up the basing on the chariots as if there ripping up the ground is very good. I’d echo Mottdon thoughts on leaf foliage or maybe even using a snow scatter. Though overall I think your army is shaping up well and am looking forward to seeing more painted up. Cheers Trollslayer! I'll be back on the painting soon, unfortunately I have been suffering a bout of face swelling which hurts my whole head and neck and leaves me looking like the elephant man, so I've managed to start but not finish base coating three ungors. Perhaps it is the Chaos gods bestowing gifts upon me for painting their children. If so, where are my horns damn it! Well firstly and most importantly hope your feeling better Markdienekes and secondly looking forward to seeing how the bases turn out using the leaf scatter.

I've also got some more beastmen characters. Bought this lot for £20 on ebay which I thought was actually a really good price: My only concern is the bases. I've never really removed a model from its base, and these are on quite heavy bases which have some sort of metal pin through the base reinforced by some sort of solid waxy glue. How would you guys tackle it? Just cut around carefully, then file off any metal bits left afterwards? I may ultimately leave them on the stands and use them simply for Frostgrave, and paint them up all snowy, but it seems a shame not to use Khazrak in warhammer. That's an amazing price for that group of fatties. The Avatars of War guy isn't as big as I thought.

Finally caught up on all this awesomeness. The herd grows!
A big congratulations on finishing the unit of Bestigor. They'll look great on the battlefield and be the bane of your enemies......sometimes.

I haven't visited your thread for a while also, and I must say you are doing great progress. The shamans and chariots are painted so well!
