Hello folks,
It's me again with the odd questions. I have a friend who want to run a Dogs of war army. Does anyone have any recommendations for up-to-date rules for DOW in 8th?
All answers on a postcard and are gratefully recieved.

Warhammer Armies Project comes to mind. The writer's philosophy is to hoover up any and all published material (from GW and fan-made) and put that into a nicely polished pdf. So, don't expect internal balance and unique roles for each unit but rather an overloaded smorgasboard. Now, this will give you unit choices to field pretty much any models you have at hand. You have to dig around a bit for the DoW 8th edition book (he wrote his own 9th edition and associated army books and so proper 8th edition is no longer front and center on the webpage. But, it was still there last I checked). I believe there are two volumes: generic DoW and a separate book with Special Characters and Regiments of Renown. I've played quite a few games with the generic DoW and really enjoyed it. Fielded pikemen regiments next to halflings and Norse and ogres. Nostalgia was strong in this one.
edit: right, DiscoQing's link takes you straight to the WAP book. and, as a bonus, here is the link to the Regiments of Renown:

As indicated above, there are no official 8th edition rules for a DoW army. If your friend wants to use official rules, the only solution would be to use DoW models as proxies for Empire units. If he wants to use fan-made rules like the ones suggested, it would require the fiat of his opponent first.

You can also field an Empire army led by the Special Character Lietpold the Black. He's an actual mercenary commander from the Border Princes and allows you to field a single Core unit chosen from the Bretonnian, Dwarfs or Ogre Kingdom army books.
