Found on reddit, apparently someone got new sprues in a car boot sale? Looks like a pegasus knight/character, and plastic at that.

Now I can't see how any GW employee would be daft enough to sell upcoming TOW sprues, and give the game away as to what's being made, in a car boot sale of all things. However I can certainly see the GW copyright mark. Can anyone see the copyright date more accurately than I can? It looks excitingly like 2023 but I could be wrong. Not to mention this clashes with GW's infuriating idea of making TOW character models in Forge World Resin. However, this could be one of the Bretonnian characters for a Bretonnians vs Tomb Kings boxed game for TOW, as the contents of a boxed game have to be plastic. Additionally, if the Horus Heresy is anything to go by, after releasing the boxed game for that GW released the two Space Marine characters in it separately after a while, so we could certainly see this lad coming out as a standalone kit in the future. Exciting stuff!

It's a 2023 date. Because the model was designed and produced in 2023

But I still doubt we will get WH:TOW this year. The release of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis was delayed from August (now) to "later in the year".

The release of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis was delayed from August (now) to "later in the year". The rise of that pointless BS certainly concerns me, but there's still time to release both, and I'm hoping GW will still be able to fit it in, especially as the two games have different development teams and it's specifically the 40th anniversary of Warhammer Fantasy. Not 40K, not AoS, not Horus Heresy, but Fantasy. GW can't keep forgetting the game that started it all. It's the elephant in the room right now. Also it intrigues me that GW didn't include any mention of any further TOW Development Diary articles at the end of the current one, which makes me wonder if that was the last one before they reveal it in full.

Ahhh, that's what we needed to see - a plastic character. Now the sprue has leaked, GW's usual response is to post up proper photos of the model on Warhammer Community. Coming today, hopefully...

are we sure this is a character? and not a Peg knight? The wings are awfully wide for a model that is supposed to live in a unit of similar models. Also GW has been showing the classic pegasus knights in WH:TOW previews. Neither of those are definitive. But they point to this being a lone character.

I think you're looking at the wrong thing for an indicator whether it's a character or not: It comes with a sculpted base component. Not always, but usually, rank and file don't have modeled base components. Characters are more likely to have a sculpted bit they peg into. Still nothing absolutely definitive, but I think that's a better indicator than wing span.

Plastic Gyrocopter has a molded base bit exactly like that.

So we have context on this thanks to Peachy. Apparently, there is a bin in the factory for sprues that don't meet the QA test and employees are free to dig around in the bin to take home for their own personal projects. This wouldn't be the first time we received leaks from this source(one of the Thousand Sons sprues leaked this way back around Wrath of Magnus and was even cheekily acknowledged in one of the videos as an end gag). Which also means that the plastic TOW models that GW told us they were producing are already being produced and boxed.

There's going to be a Warhammer: The Old World preview among others at the NOVA open on 30th/31st August, so here's hoping GW take notice of this and show us what the boxed game is going to be.
