I severely doubt there will be a new unit because it would be in the main army list if so. -------------------------The journal feature new units. Only resurrected Forge World stuff that hasn't previously seen play in standard Fantasy other than Storm of Magic/Monstrous Arcanum, like the Bonegrinder Giant, the Troll Hag, and most likely the Colossal Squig and Squig Gobba.

I'm referring to what GW mention in the Greenskins article - they only ever mentioned returning Forge World models like the Troll Hag and Bonegrinder Giant. I really can't see any new units coming for Greenskins I'm afraid.

There have been new units in the two Arcane Journals so far that weren't accompanied by models - they came with suggestions on painting/converting them. An example is Tomb Guard Chariots.

There have been new units in the two Arcane Journals so far that weren't accompanied by models - they came with suggestions on painting/converting them. An example is Tomb Guard Chariots. Yea, I guess the Tomb Guard Chariots, Venerable Ushabti, and Necroserpents are technically new units. You could even include the Skeleton Cohorts and Arch Necrotect as new units. I think because they reuse existing models, my brain filed them under alternative builds of existing units.

True, but they have all been units that can be converted out of existing kits, rather than made from brand-new ones. I could potentially see this being done in the Greenskins one too, but this is definitely no confirmation of brand new kits coming.

Are you guys reading the Arcane Journals? The arcane journals are really fun, I recommend you guys check them out!
Tomb Kings had 6 new units in their Arcane Journal, plus 3 special characters
Bretonnia had 4 new units in theirs, plus 3 special characters.
So I don't follow your logic about O&G not getting new units. We know there will be a Troll army, so in addition to the Troll Hag there could very well be some new Trollish units, possibly even a Troll character type.
Based on the first two arcane journals, it seems EVERY arcane journal will receive a couple new units. There is absolutely no reason to think otherwise.

To paraphrase Slick Willie, "It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘new’ is". Kit bashes of existing models or flat out "do an extra nice paint job to represent this unit" are not new units (to me). Plus the "new" units being limited to specific armies of infamy is not exciting. Maybe if I only collected a single faction, the idea of new units for an army of infamy would be more interesting to me. But as is I'm not going to spend time modeling and painting a unit that is restricted to a single special army build. I'd much rather spend that time doing up a standard unit I'm missing for one of the eleven factions I collect. edit: I expect the O&G arcane journal will have Big'un Trolls (to represent on the table top paint your models extra sloppy). Eh, not exciting.

Then a post basically said the "preview" told us everything to see here, which it didn't. I then stated what I mean is, I'd like to know the release date, new units, the other special character, army lists etc. Then I was told no new units. I clarified that I'm talking about new units in the game, not new models. And you guys are still giving me a hard time. I am super excited for the O&G release and new units and new special characters and new infamous army list. It's impossible to change my mind about this...I'm excited! I'm hoping to hear more about the O&G releases, if you guys aren't that's fine.

If you are excited for the upcoming O&G release, good. Don't let me or anyone else dissuade you. People having different opinions in this hobby is a good thing. I'm excited for the O&G release too. For some of it at least. But I expect to be underwhelmed by any "new" units included in the arcane journal.

I'm looking forward to official rules for Savage Orc Chariots, so I can model them according to the 8th edition army book lore, with square wheels.

I'm looking forward to official rules for Savage Orc Chariots, so I can model them according to the 8th edition army book lore, with square wheels. -------Yes, I can def see Savage Orc Chariots being in there. I think there is a decent chance the second variant army list be a savage orc type of list or a focus that includes them. The main grand army already allows you to build a lot of variants as is, including - Black Orc / 'Ard Boyz army, Orc armies, Goblin armies, Night Goblin/Squig armies, Forest Goblin/Spider armies, all cav armies, monster heavy armies, shooty armies, etc. You can even make a Snotling Horde army!!! We know with the journal we will be able to make Troll armies. So the only really O&G army you can't make currently is a Savage Orc Horde, so my guess is the other variant would be Savage Orc-focused. OR what if they did Hobgoblin Khanate armies??? (I know, unlikely - for the naysayers out there - but one can dream!!!!)

I've seen speculation that it will be an all mounted list. That would probably include Savage Orc Chariots, Black Orc Chariots, Goblin Spider Chariots, etc.

I'm hoping to hear more about the O&G releases, if you guys aren't that's fine. I also never intended any sort of personal attack, and it's great that you're excited about the Greenskin release. I am too, as I have a Greenskin army of my own and it'll be most interesting to see fully what the Arcane Journal holds for them. I just simply think it'd be a real waste of the upcoming Wednesday preview to just talk a little bit extra about something we have already known about since January, especially as the 'new units' that will feature in the Arcane Journal, certainly at this stage, will likely just be ideas for players to kitbash and aren't sufficient to warrant a full event preview. It'd certainly be great if, at some point, GW do release new models for these units too, but at this stage I'd much rather see a preview for another faction release (hoping for Dwarfs after the leak of their dice) to accompany Greenskins after Bretonnians and Tomb Kings have at last got all their basic stuff. I want to see them getting a move on with the inaugural releases for the Big 9 core factions, partly because I'm fed up with people (not here, elsewhere on the net) complaining about how slow GW are being with getting even the starting ranges for all the factions out.
