I have large Empire and Vampire Counts armies. Both purchased from a good friend who was disillusioned by the End Times and got out of WFB. I'd love to be able to play the Sigmar's Blood campaign straight out of the book. But some things are missing from both armies. My goal for 2022 is to paint up the missing units and characters for what is called out in the Sigmar's Blood book. This thread is to track my progress. Wish me luck. Below are all the characters and units from the campaign. Green means it is painted.Red means needs to be painted.Battle 1 - The Empire- Witch Hunter
- 20 Swordsmen, full command
- 10 Handgunners, full command
- 8 Knights of the Blazing Sun
- Great Cannon
Battle 1 - Vampire Counts- Necromancer on Corpse Cart
- 20 Crypt Ghouls
- 10 Dire Wolves
- 20 Skeletons, sword, shield, full command
Battle 2 - The Empire- Grand Theogonist on War Altar
- Arch Lector
- 20 Flagellants
Battle 2 - Vampire Counts- Count Mannfred (mounted)
- 30 Zombies, full command
- 3 Vargheists
Battle 3 - The Empire- Battle Wizard, Light Order
- Luminark of Hysh
- 20 Free Company
Battle 3 - Vampire Counts- Tomb Banshee Hero
- Cairn Wraith Hero
- 5 Hexwraiths
- Mortis Engine
Battle 4 - The Empire- 3 Demigryph Knights, full command
- 8 Reiksguard Kngihts, full command

Don't you have to get a Great Cannon for the first battle? It is certainly more than useful.

This was my 2016 resolution! Still in progress though 😆. Good luck, it's a fun and characterful campaign, I'm eager to see your progress.

Do you have all of the models and just need to paint some, or do you still need to collect them?
Some of those (8 Knights of the Blazing Sun in particular) will be hard to find. Also, highly recommend the new father/daughter witch hunters. Great models!
Great goal and good luck!

Do you have all of the models and just need to paint some, or do you still need to collect them? I have all the models. Just assembly and paint remaining. Some of those (8 Knights of the Blazing Sun in particular) will be hard to find. After months of searching I was unable to find virgin on sprue Empire knights for a reasonable price. So I'm working with previously assembled and painted ones. Luckily they were assembled with superglue. So I was able to "unassemble" and snap them apart without much damage. I did secure a rare unused Knights of the Blazing Sun upgrade kit which I will use when I rebuild the knights. So they should end up looking pretty special. Also, highly recommend the new father/daughter witch hunters. Great models! Galen and Doralia ven Denst are nice models. But they are plastic which I don't like for infantry models if it can be avoided. I have the classic Johann van Hal model which I plan to use (also his buddy Wilhelm Hasburg).

And just because they are cool and I like sharing, here is a picture of another unit of "halflings" I painted several years back.

Third rank of the Halfling militia (Empire Free Company). I got these guys to 90% last week. Then I was distracted with assembly and conversions on the Knights of the Blazing Sun. My original plan to use a previously painted plastic Knightly Orders unit rescued from ebay didn't work too well. There was just too much paint and glue caked on. Luckily I had not yet sold off my classic metal Knights of the Blazing Sun. I ended up with a mix of the classic metal and the modern plastic with the Blazing Sun conversion kit bits. End result turned out better than I expected. I hope my plan to paint them works out.
