If you want Doom/Gorebulls, the best way is to make them tzeentchy (3+ward). Flying bull is awesome, you are right. Chaos doggies is a waste here (and they can't take marks, as well as harpies, btw). Even if you want to field them, don't take any upgrades on them, it's better to take another unit. So, slaaneshi ungor raiders (or even slaaneshi regular ungors) will be better. Also slaaneshi chariots are much better than nurgly ones. I doupt the Minos (especially with so many upgrades) is a good way - too expensive. I have no ideas about Giants (or other our Rare choices) - sorry, I'm more used to playing without them at all . If you want to field them, you need some more chaff anyway. See the ETC 2015 lists, there were a few awesome Beastmen armies (somewhere on this forum). Have fun.

Was it a friendly, fun tournament or a more serious competition? Regardless, well done for doing so well championing the True Children of Chaos! I notice you're using Marks of Chaos from Glottkin which are certainly a help, and knoffles will be pleased to see you used a flying Doombull to dangerous effect! I would personally have gone with a Khornate Doombull and given him a nasty offensive kit with just enough armour to keep him alive, and if you want to add another one I would say focus on an offence-heavy one to really pack some punch to work in tandem with your more defensive-oriented Nurgle units, and give him some Khorne Minotaurs with additional hand weapons (to give a juicy 5 Strength 5 attacks per front rank model) to join him in charging across the board and hacking, goring and stomping anything they can reach!

It used crown comp pack with a few things added and It was defo competitive, i just think doom bulls lift so much weight in a beast list, I was so let down by the giants, I might as well swap them out for a doom.
I'd keep the first 2, but stuck on what to build the 3rd, what items would you suggest?

Also if doom bull starts with Minos they become frenzy anyway so khorne is a bit of a waste

lordofskullpassDoombull already has frenzy, so why does he need be Khorny? (I don't have a armybook near at hand now, sorry if I'm mistaking) locklustThere are no so many effective and strong builds for a Bulls. The most popular are: - Flying tzeentchy (Carpet, GW, HA, Charmet shield, ToP) Or sometimes just flying (Carpet, 10initiative sword, <...>) - Just tzeentchy (GW, 3+ward) - "1+rerollable" (Ramhorn helm+gnarled hide combo) Sword of swift slaying is awesome too. Sometimes Nurgly Bull with Fencers blades is good. So, you've already listed a popular (and competitive) variants, then all you need is testing and practice with it. Also can you tell any reports from that tournament?

If the Giants let you down I would definitely say trade at least one for a Ghorgon given that it does the same job but better, as well as your third Doombull idea. Both you and @crazy_Dokta have a point about Khornate Doombull being a waste because I suppose in this case the multiple instances of Frenzy wouldn't stack and add further attacks?

I am not into marks ....:-) Locklust posted you 3 well known and super nice setup for our great Doombull. the first setup is my beloved one!:-) the second is also super cool.... the third I have never played becasue I could not imagine a super heavy bull flying on a carpet ...but I admit it can have a tactical function due to his ability to fly.
Btw my setup is bit different because I need the crown of command in my Doombull unit.
My general doombull has a Ward save 4++ and Armor save 2+ and crown of command this is my setup
-Doombull talisman of preservation crown of command heavy armour shield gnarled hide warrior bane ( just to use my last 5 points and give him a magicla weapon)
I am using this because I lost my big unit of mino in the last battle( I had multiple charges and I lost by 2 and the they flee ...) with a crown of command I would have stayed and maybe winning the game.
Anywaymy general is still a good fighter ...I maybe play it too much defensively...but this is the only viable setup I found if I want the crown. ( giving the crown to a gorebull I think it's risky because you don't have enough points left to protect him)
The other possibility is to play the classic Doombull
- Doombull [333pts]: Heavy Armour, Shield . Magic Items: AB - Ramhorn Helm, BRB - Dawnstone, BRB - Sword of Swift Slaying, Gnarled Hide
and a second one
- Doombull sword of Battle crown of command armour of destiny shield
just my 2cent

I’m guessing your 10th was at Cardiff? Solid placement with the Beasts! Definitely a congrats from me! Can I be nosey at who you faced and what armies?
You might have been battling around the same tables as my club mate, Luke. I think he came 8th with his Brets.
I’m a huge fan of doombulls. I have a preference for the sword of striking over the sword of swift slaying, especially, as in the TC comp pack you can get it for the BRB cost of 15pts but both work equally fine. I’ve not used giants in this edition but if you want the list themed, then a Ghorgon or 2 would fit better than the giants (though they are an additional 100pts for 2). They are almost sudo doombulls, so it will almost be like running 4 😁. I’m also guessing that Cardiff did the 50% lords/heroes allowance again. I know that’s a rarity in the tournament scene in the UK so that will limit the double Doombull effectiveness if limited to 625pts. Is the new list for the next Cardiff or just with mates? Did the Chris allow marks on dogs and harpies in his modified TC pack? And were dogs counted towards core? I’m not sure I saw the Cardiff pack, hence the questions.

Just seen the results go up and that you were actually 8th. That’s an even more impressive result, especially as I know quite a few of the players and the calibre you were up against. Hat off to you sir!

So I'm super new to 8th, so I know I used marks on the dogs and gargoyles and Chris was fine with it, but I think your right they are not meant to, he is updating pack to allow them for next tournament, but tbh they were always shot off, I do remember a Bret's guy near me one or two tables from me,
I played OK, lizards, 2 x wood , lizards. Lost hard Vs wood as I went second both times and got shot off!! I agree with sword of striking.
