With the apparent release of Warhammer: The Old World being fairly soon...I'm thinking we should create a board section on the EEFL Forum dedicated to the new WFB game. Please add your opinion by responding to the poll question. Thank you.

Definitely, yes. I think it's a positive for the site to embrace other versions of WFB beyond just 8th edition, whether that be TOW or even previous editions. The core of the forum should remain focused on 8th, but there's a good chance a large portion of the community will shift to TOW or at least try it, and I wouldn't want to see people leave to another site to get their fix of talking their preferred version of Warhammer Fantasy.
At the moment TOW just needs a single forum section, but in time if it catches on, it'd need Army Lists / Rules / Battle Reports / Tactics forums as well.
Stuff like the top forum (introductions, general release news, chat etc.), Painting & Modelling, Locate other EEFLers, and The World-That-Was forums still work shared between 8th and TOW.

I think it can wait. at the moment any TOW tidbits we might discuss easily fit into that one thread.
IF this new game turns out to be something playable, how many people would really play both (and hence benefit from a place that caters to 8th and TOW)?
seems more likely TOW is either super-awesome, we all migrate over and archive all 8th stuff into a museum sub-forum or is bad and we stick with 8th (while all new people go to TOW-specific forums...or rather discord channels or whatever kids do these days).

I echo sedge, a sub section is definitely worthwhile but can probably wait until anything concrete is known.

I think getting a jump start and promoting the board could also bring people back to playing 8th possibly? In the end I think a lot of us are going to give it a shot so its probably not a bad idea.

I think it will be a great way to pick up traction on the site. If newcomers, or people who don't actively engage, are drawn in by the new excitement that TOW is bound to dredge up, then it might also spark an additional interest in 8th. Plus, if a TOW section is available, then some might find the 8th reference quite handy and refreshing for cross-referencing. All eggs in one basket, kind of place. No need to go elsewhere.
I sincerely hope TOW brings back a renewed interest in forums like this one.

This pretty much nailed it.

Going to also support an Old World section as it will help pick up the user rate by riding that GW hype train.

A section for the Old World would be good. Just no WAP, 9th age, etc. sections.

A section for the Old World would be good. Just no WAP, 9th age, etc. sections. Seconded. This forum should remain for official editions, and fan-made army lists for official editions, only.

.... or even previous editions. whoa wow... steady! personally I come here and enjoy the silence of the uppity 6th crowd. I knew 6th Edition was still popular but didn't know they had forums of their own. Are there any that anyone can recommend for 6th, or dare I say it, 7th, as the idea of having sections for those editions here understandably isn't popular?
