Last weekend, a few of us played a siege game as part of a campaign we are involved in. My Goblins were assaulting a fortress controlled by the Empire, along with a contingent of Dwarf allies. A notable fact is that this is the only WFB siege game involving Empire, Dwarfs, and Goblins with no war machines involved – ever to be played! The Dwarfs and Men wanted more bodies rather than machines, not a bad choice. As for the Goblins, this banner is made up of mainly Wolf Riders, who dismounted for the siege. Note, my army was relatively small to begin with (just under 2,000 pts) and smaller due to Goblins dismounting from their wolves. The Goblins pushing the siege tower are a unit of 40, and they normally all ride wolves. I spent a lot of gold on siege equipment, including the green giant - Tom, the Drunken Giant (Drunken Giants can be bought as siege equipment by any army) and also an additional A-Rock known as Da Red Deff. I lost the battle, the 40 dismounted Goblins (Grom's Fleabags) were utterly destroyed and the gold I spend on siege equipment wasted. I'm like Stannis after losing the Battle of Blackwater Bay... Here are a few pics. TheREALricksalamone , dannytee if you guys have more pix of this game please post them here.

Note, my Goblin Shaman, Wuzbog, knowns the Ryze spell from Warhammer: Nagash. He summoned a unit of Zombies and 2 Morgashs to aid the Goblins during the assault - it almost worked!

This battle was vital to the survival of the Empire as a loss would have placed Grom and his minions in a fortified position right outside the capital in Talabheim. With timely help from Ungrim and his dwarven host, Marshall Maximilian Arno and Valten mustered a critical defense. A dismounted Arno led 40 garrison swordsmen on the gatehouse while detachments of 20 halberdiers and 12 archers held the easternmost tower. Valten bolstered the defense in the tower which proved critical in directing Da Great Gog right into the path of Arno and his Runefang. Despite some losses, the swordsmen at the gate held against Da Great Gog, a giant hill troll, 2 summoned Morghasts, ladder-borne night goblins, and a late wolf rider charge of the opened gate (destroyed by night goblin battering ram). The lack of war machines was a calculated risk but Arno believed that with his limited resources and probable spiders, "bodies on the wall" was the better strategy.

That table for your Assault Game looks spectacular. Where are these rules for a Drunken Giant (that counts as equipment)?
It has me wondering how a Drunken Giant differs from the usual kinds.

It has me wondering how a Drunken Giant differs from the usual kinds. ---------Under the Dark Tidings Campaign rules on this forum, you will find siege amendments in the appendix section. Those will be updated soon, and I'll have a separate document for siege stuff. Drunken Giants are basically Giants with lower LD (8, rather than 10) and have stupidity. That can't reroll stupidity tests. They cost a tad more that a standard Giant.

Drunken Giants cost more because this is an option now available to armies without Giants, as well as being a further Giant option for armies that already can take Giants. Since Giants are good choices in siege games, it seems fair to allow all armies to chose a Giant, even if they are drunk.

Also, I was there man. I seen it! 'Twas Epic. This was in my Top 5 lifetime of Siege games. The dismounted cavalry pushing the 3-story tower. The multiple giants. The multiple Giant Spiders. What more could you want? I seem to remember a drunken giant assaulting the wall, smashing, but then dying from Dwarf axes. A drunken giant still falls, and he fell into the wall. The pics came out great - this was a WIN for coolness no matter who actually won the battle.
