Yeah, I'm just trying to help the "Unfair List" build idea along. I really like the idea of just leaving him at a Lv2. At 1500 points, you really don't need more. Maybe keep the BSB in a big block of Warriors? Throw in a Chimera for an alternate speedster or huge block of Trolls for more grinding? Really does seem unfair though.

Don't hold back! Its not about making friends with those rats, goblins and orcs! Its about telling them not to be cocky after feasting on too much Athel Loren blood!

Definitely bring along a Chimera.
Those things grind like nothing else and provide a good distraction.

Because the club tourey I play in does not allow flying wizards, I've always taken the DP without the flight upgrade pretty much all the time I've used one. Even without it, he still has movement 8 and is very fast, so I think there is the option to pass the 40 points on that too when things are really tight, although it is very useful.

Thank the Horned Rat I never play against these guys. Was the author of that book on crack? No... just Crud My honest thoughts on the OP Daemon Princes are that lore wise they are supposed to be exceptional and the pinnacle of what marauders and chaos warriors aspire to. Robin Cruddace wanted people to field them over/alongside chaos wizards and lords. With the previous 7th edition book they were if I recall 275 points with worse stats than the 235 point 8th edition version and never got fielded over the other Lord options. Imo Cruddace/Games Workshop were trying to buff them and get them (and their fancy plastic Daemon Prince kit $) back on gaming tables when they had been left by the wayside in the previous book. However they swung the pendulum too far! Meanwhile.. Mat Ward (curse his name) already ruined an edition (7th) with his OP Daemon book...... Bloody Daemons... cause of so much misery in the Warhammer Fantasy world...in lore and games.....

BSB:
5+ (armor of destiny is heavy armor) 3+ (scaly skin) 1+ (barded mount)
He's good as he is.
Both characters have a 1+ armor and a 3+ Ward, they're about as protected as they're going to get.
Just be careful of combat resolution and breaking from combat, that's typically the only way those characters will die.

Have you ever thought about Nurgle ? That is what I run and has provided me with plenty of good times.

Nurgle is a great choice. The only thing (for me) is that the protection offered by Tzeentch works in the combat AND the shooting phases. Nurgle only works when you're in close combat.
If you're taking a character on foot (or want to put a character in a Nurgle marked unit) then by all means take the MoN. But you just can't beat the extra pip of a ward save when you're on a daemonic mount or flying around on a disc.
A case could be made if you're trying to get access to the lore of death/nurgle as well, as I personally rate both of those lores higher than metal/tzeentch.

Let's no forget if you bring festus. He is a lv2 and he buffs your unit with Regeneration and poisoned Attacks. With that you bring a daemon prince Nurgle with at least a level and you could have the possibility of buffing your units with toughness +d3 or hex the opposition with minus d3 toughness. I love using this one especially bc its a cheap spell with a nice buff up. In all I think the Nurgle spells all work wonderfully . Think a gorebeast chariot with MoN add d3 toughness lol awesome sauce.
