So after trying some of thier products I will from now on only buy minitures from GW. I actually in the beginning though the extream price atleast included good quality but I have come to the conclusion that it just high price and bad quality stamped with a brand. This is after first nights use... totally ruined. Managed to drill one hole before tool broke. I had the same problem with the $20 arteficer brush that split tail after 5min of use. Just wanted to give heads up warning before someone else buys it.

Oh, geez! Can you at least take it back to a GW store or contact someone about it with pics? They are usually good about replacing that sort of thing.

For brushes I swear by Winsor & Newton series 7 size 1 and 0, plus any other general basecoat slop brush. Will cover 99% of your needs and mine last ages. Previous brush was 3 years old before I retired it. Current brush is 1 and still pristine

I've heard good things about the Winsor Newtons, I use Princeton 2/0 for almost everything I do. When they start to wear out they're great for applying inks, and eventually they become excellent drybrushes!
EDIT: Sorry about the drill. I'd seriously try and get them to replace it for you.

Hi I tried with the brush but failed. I bought 3 artificer brushes and two are pretty good as I cant find W&N here easy. I have made an order on wayland games with three W&N brushes that I am waiting for. I bought these stuff at my local shop next door to my office and both times small purchases and didnt keep the recipt... Guess I have learned that twice now but really hate keeping recipt on small purchases as it will fill up a drawer pretty fast. GW said, go to shop. Shop said, must have recite... I will try mailin GW for spare "head" part for the drill but my hopes are not high.

I have been using a GW basecoat brush recently. I am not especially pleased with it. It is fairly new and has frayed a bit and the tip has also curled. Always the same with GW brushes

Always the same with GW brushes I had the same issue with the medium basecoat brush. Definitely not recommended. My large really fat GW basecoat brush has been worthwhile. I still have the Games Workshop Wash brush I bought a couple of years ago and think the GW wash brush is brilliant. Now I think they don't sell this exact brush anymore but they sell an equivalent 'Shade' brush. Their GW standard/medium brush I have tried and didn't like. Didn't last long at all.

This is what mine has done. I was relatively happy with the old range basecoat brush

I also swear by Windsor and Newton. I do most of my painting with the 000.
The brush is the one thing you really shouldn't skimp on, it makes an enormous difference, and the super expensive brushes last far longer anyway.

I may be a little weird this way, but I actually like it when the brush tip begins to bend a little bit (it still has to form a point though; once the brush no longer holds a point it's an ink applyer/drybrush). I like hooking the tip over the edge that I'm trying to paint and using it as a guide for the surface that I'm working on. It's a little hard to explain exactly, but I end up being able to paint corners and edges very well this way.
I actually don't like switching to new brushes when my old ones wear out because I then have to "break in" the new brush to a point that I like.

I prefer larger brushes with good tip as they tend to hold water/color better before drying. I do like these artificers by GW but overall I cant recomend them as the third (xs) was utterly crap. They are more expensive then W&N 7 so I really lookforward to compare them. About 50h of usage.
