Wow. You guys really put a lot into your brushes. I just buy a $3 pack of 5-6 brushes and use them for a few months until they are all worn out. I then get the next brush out of the pack. I don't worry about tossing it then.

I don't buy drybrushes. I wait for my brushes to deteriorate and then they continue to serve me in death.
I've also never truly bought an expensive brush either, I get mine from Michaels and usually pay around $4 for a single brush. It lasts me long enough that I consider it a decent investment, and I try and drybrush as much as I can so I'm always glad to have a large stock of drybrushes.

Lol, that's what I do as well! I have a coffee cup FULL of old brushes that have become dry brushes. Once they lose their fine tip, they get moved to that cup. Some get so bad that the metal head connecting the brushes to the stem lets go and I have to hold it on or glue it back if I continue using it. I usually throw it away soon after.

I find a nice brush to be a good investment. It makes painting so much easier and I think has improved my painting. The size 1 brush which is my favourite has a good enough point to do all but the fines detail whilst also being quite large and useable for bigger areas too. I think they are only £9 and last years so are not exactly break the bank expensive I also use The Masters Cleaner, it is lovely stuff

For me I stoped touching cheap brushes and will never go back I really hate bad points and I it did inprove my painting alot by investing in a more expensive brush. But I belive that is a personal taste as I have seen people paint stuff with craft paint and cheapest brush that I cant even dream of doing. I am also not too fond of the "use and throw away" way of living so I tend to try finding high quality and get really upset when price dosn't meet the quality I expect. Hence this topic

Regarding the dry brushes, they are not needed but I do find it easyer to drybrush with precision with them as they tend to keep thier shape better.

For brushes I swear by Winsor & Newton series 7 size 1 and 0, plus any other general basecoat slop brush. Will cover 99% of your needs and mine last ages. Previous brush was 3 years old before I retired it. Current brush is 1 and still pristine The size 1 does nearly all my painting bar the finest detail (size 0), drybrushing (drybrushes) & basecoating (any big slop brush)

Great! They've always been good to me whenever I've had problems in the past.
Right after the HE book came out, I ordered an Everqueen model. When I got it and opened it up, she didn't have a face! (There was supposed to be a separate piece for the face.). It must've fallen off the sprue when packing. I contacted GW about it and they just sent me another one. I asked them if they wanted the "faceless" one back and they were like, "Nope. Just keep it."
I think I attached a skull face to it and painted it up like a banchee for my VC friend.
