Hello all! Somehow I've missed it. It's rude, I'm dealing . My name is Dmitriy, I'm from Russia. At first I was just looking for some fantasy miniatures for our D&D games, and became interested WFB some later, in 2013. I'm a "Chaosy player" - WoC, Beasts and Skaven armies. Also some O&G (I'm always upset about it - we need more green ladz for da Waagh! ). I like play mostly themed battles/special scenario in casual games. I had a little break in hobby. Also almost all of our dudes left in AoS/abandoned hobby at all. I'm paint/repaint all my old armies right now (and I hope WFB will rise again in our gaming group ). Have fun! (and excuse my English) Welcome to EEFL!

Hello all! What armies do you play now? O&G! I'd sold all the rest through the years. I have a budding KoW Halfling force I could use as a counts as Empire army. My local 8th group died after End Times, so sadly they have not seen the table in many years. Playing Total War: Warhammer games has me searching for a way to enjoy my favorite mini game ever again.

Not sure how I missed this Intro thread, I've been annoying people on here for a few months already lol but better late than never!
I'm in Lincoln, UK, where luckily I'm round the corner from an absolutely fantastic FLGS in Imps Gaming and we often stand out from the crowd with the general hilarity we find gets thrown up in 8th edition fantasy every game.
Had a few years off when age of...age o..nah I can't even say it. When the 'mistake' came out and all the other fantasy players around here gave up and moved onto other things. In fairness I did try AOS with an open mind but was very disappointed. Previous to that we had a huge local base of fantasy players and regular small tournaments. Anyway I then found myself playing 40k, but when 8th 40k came out drifted into heresy and then back to 40K. After a while we just didn't find any joy in 40k, especially at tournaments, and exclusively did necromunda for over a year (which is an absolute blast! if you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it!)
I'm 50 minutes from GW HQ, so if people don't fancy the long trek to Lincoln I'm happy to meet there for games- easy for lots of people to get to and they have food.
Currently I have Beastmen (5K), Bretonnians (4k), Tomb Kings (5k), Skaven (6k) and the beginnings of both dwarfs/chaos dwarfs and vampire counts, but they are long term projects now as I'm looking to move house. Mordheim dreams are likewise staying as dreams for now for the same reason. I'm super fast at assembling models but incredibly slow at painting them so expect a fair amount of grey if you play me in the next few months.
Hi!

Hi all, just found this forum and for the last little while I've been thinking of getting back into 8th. For the last number of ears I've been pushing round round bases. I use skaven. wood elves and lizardmen. Hoping this forum will rekindle some long lost enthusiasm.

I realise that I've been knocking around this forum for quite a while without properly introducing myself. How rude. I've been a gamer for...oh my...35 years now (I guess I'm officially old). I started Warhammer Fantasy Battle back in 3rd edition, and Warhammer 40K back in Rogue Trader. I played a little bit of WFB in 4th as well, but only got properly back into the game again a few years ago when chaosreigns drew me back into the fold. In the meantime I went through the inevitable "angry at GW phase" (principally because they abandoned WFRP), then came back to 40K in third edition, have been exploring various non-GW games, and have recently ventured into LotR with chaosreigns and the rest of our League of Extraordinary Gamers. My primary army for WFB is wood elves, but I've started building chaos and Albionite forces as well. In real life, I'm a medieval historian who specialises in the crusades.

Thought I should introduce myself as I’ve posted once or twice recently. I Can’t believe I only found this forum a few months ago. I started with 3rd Ed warhammer in 1987 and after a hiatus for most of 4th edition, warhammer fantasy has been my main game since 1996 (end of 4th/ start of 5th). Having played every edition since 3rd I’ll happily state 8th Ed is my favourite. It’s definitely not perfect but random charges, hordes and supporting attacks (for example) are all improvements on older editions. I do dabble in other ranks and flanks fantasy wargames - Kings of War and 9th age - just to get a game and because I like some of the model choice options they give my armies that 8th doesn’t (e.g. my square based bloodreavers are not a valid choice in 8th but are in the other games). But as far as I’m concerned my Armies are Warhammer armies fighting in the old world regardless of the rule set. I’d always choose 8th Ed by default rules wise too. And AoS never got a look in. I’ve got a big dwarf army and have played dark and wood elves, and Bretonnians over the years but really I am a diehard chaos fanboy (hence the forum handle). Got armies for all 3 books, multiples in some cases. The lifetime hobby ambition is an all in chaos incursion army made up of numerous individual 2k+ armies representing (virtually - can’t be fussed with trolls) all of the myriad aspects of warhammer chaos. Mono-god armies, monsters and mutants etc.
