I thought it would be good to have a thread where new members could introduce themselves to the EEFL community and could also learn a bit about existing members.
So, a bit about me. I started playing Warhammer part of the way into sixth edition and have played the game continuously since (roughly 12 years now). My main army has always been Dwarves but I also have smaller Lizardmen and Skaven armies. I dabbled in 40K for a while but have since stopped playing completely. Warhammer is my main game and hobby. I live in New York State, USA.
The games that I play vary between casual games, tournament games and games in an ongoing campaign. I attend three or four two-day tournaments a year generally in the Northeast USA. Overall I play roughly 50 games of Warhammer a year. I would consider myself to be a casual player, I am far more concerned with having a good time while gaming than I am with winning or losing.

Hello all. My name is joe. I would consider myself a casual player. Too much arguing kills the game for me. I mainly have humans. Kinda got a soft spot for them. I also have lizardmen, wood and dark elves, ogres, and a random gathering of other armies.

Hello, my name is Jason and I'm a warhammer addict. It's been 30 seconds since I last looked at a miniature. I've played both 40k and Warhammer. I love dwarf armies, as they were my first, but I'm mainly an Ogre army player.
I really an a casual player. As long as I understand what is going on (why your character can do what he did) I see no reason to argue. 8th edition really is what I love, as I've played from the tail end of 5th. Keep your ranks moving EEFL.

My name is Will. I am from Honeoye Falls, NY (about 10 miles south of Rochester). In order, this is what I love about Warhammer: 1. Casually Discussing Tactical Theory and Rules 2. Charging with Units of Cavalry 3. Making all four of my charges on one turn, all at 9+ Inches on 2D6 4. Themed Armies 5. Painting Shiny New Models 6. Getting 95% of all of my models 95% painted, every time 7. Discussing Old World Fluff 8. Sipping a post-game Beer or 2 …. Insert about 362 things here 371. Rules Lawyering 372. Painting Units of 30+ Dwarf Warriors
Honorable Mention: Playing Blood Bowl
I might describe myself as the “Least competitive of the WAAC players” (WAAC = Win At All Costs). I could also fairly describe myself as “A Player from your Casual Group that likes to have a Competitive Game”.

Hi my name is Kevin and I've been collecting Goblins since 1988! It's been 10 seconds since I last thought about a Goblin. Although I've played many different editions of Warhammer, and like each edition for different reasons, 8th edition is my favorite, all things considered. And when people can't remember a game called Age of Sigmar, I'll still be playing 8th edition...please join me...
EDIT: I feel I should mention my credentials. I've written several articles for White Dwarf magazine and the Citadel Journal back in the good old days, including 'Goblin Ecology' and the Dark Elf City Garrison army list. I also was an official WFB playtester during the 6th and 7th editions of Warhammer.
I wrote the 7th edition Indy GT Dwarfs of Chaos army book, which was allowed in GTs and games across the world until Forge World came out with their CD army list. Most recently I wrote Warhammer: GROM, an End Times expansion for Orcs & Goblins armies (follow the link in my signature to download it).
Next, as you see, we are working on an 8th edition army book for the Bretonnians and an army list for the new Stormcast Eternal models. EEFL!!!

Hi my name is Orcyboy aka Tartar Sauce. I've had little compulsion to play 8th edition until now. Being more of an "Oldhammer" enthusiast I suppose, but now it looks like all Warhammer is Oldhammer. Anyways I look forward to keeping Warhammer alive in any form be it 3rd 6/7th or 8th!

Hello. My name is Chris Walker and I have been playing Warhammer Fantasy since 1992 but have been playing GW games (Blood Bowl and WHFRP since 1988-ish) I founded the IWFB forum and helped get the Warhammer community started in the Chicago/Northern IL area. I own and play all of the Fantasy armies - all painted to at least 2400 pts. I also own and play Orks, Blood Angels, Chaos Marines and Chaos Demons in 40K. Plus I play Blood Bowl (rarely) and have been know to throwdown a crew in Mordheim and Necromunda. Needless to say I have a lot of time and energy invested in GW over these many years. 7th edition is my favorite edition but 8th is a very close 2nd. I am currently in one of the 12 steps of mourning with the passing of 8th edition and the rise of the AoS. It varies as to which one of the steps I am in. Denial, Rage - usually one of those two Anyway - I am keen to see 8th edition continue. I honestly don't see why this can't be possible. I also don't see why so many people are so quick to abandon it and jump to AoS. People who I have known for years are just walking away from it I don't really understand. Guess I am currently in the Denial stage of Mourning. Enough of my ranting! Long Live 8th Edition!! EEFL!!!!!!

Howdy
Mark is my name and Warhammer 8th is my game!
I own four armies, WoC, Empire, VC and TK. I only began playing WFB during 6th, sadly that was replaced by the inferior 7th. I have an interest in the 'Oldhammer' movement as well, which prompted a purchase of 3rd edition and filling out my undead legion with old Citadel models (An expensive pastime!). My reason for being here is to support a fan based living rules and army pack for 8th edition. This has worked for many other community supported Ex GW games which go from strength to strength Worldwide.
cheers

Halldór from Iceland here. I play Empire and Beastmen with a few old school warriors of chaos. Began playing in 1997 until 2001 when I discovered girls hehe. Then started up again in 2011 and came fresh into 8th. I've tried almost all the GW games but Fantasy and Bloodbowl are the ones I like.

Hey all, I'm gommo from Australia. I run a youtube channel Gommo's Itchy Nuisance. I'd love to help out where possible to keep 8th running and move it forward as a living ruleset. It's too good to let die.

Hello everyone! I'm Anton from Sweden. I've played Warhammer since the end of 3rd edition. To me, every new edition has always been an improvement over the previous one and 8th is my favourite by a wide margin. While I can see the point of the AoS system in terms of bringing new blood into the hobby, it will never replace Warhammer Fantasy Battles for me. Luckily I own the complete 8th edition with all army books, expansions and Warhammer Forge books.
Over the years I've played in and organised tournaments, campaigns and leagues for Warhammer as well as other games, but in later years and with limited hobby time, I've chosen to stay away from tournaments and focus on casual games, campaigns and large battles with rich background.
I'm an Orcs and Goblins player first and foremost, but I also own painted armies of Ogres, Lizardmen, Daemons of Nurgle and Daemons of Slaanesh, as well as armies for other games.
I'm keeping an eye on the various community efforts to evolve 8th edition, but I'm mostly happy with it as is. A complete FAQ/errata would be enough for me really. The Swedish comp group are doing some good work, but from where I'm sitting it looks like their rules will be focused only on tournament play.

Hi there, Gary from Wales. Been playing warhammer from early days of citadel compendium scenarios... long break and back in 8th. Little bit of 8th tournament experience, loved the UK comp rules to rebalance the game. Got the whole bookset, spells etc... think that it's a great edition, except I really dislike uber-spells. Have dwarfs, o&g, chaos and dark elves... and collectable citadel miniatures from long ago. Bloodbowl dwarfs, dark elfs, human, chaos and orcs teams not all painted though.
