Thanks guys. I also have the cult of ulric army list but I think I'm gonna stick to the classic empire rules and only use the ulric visual theme. The reason is that I don't know where to find miniatures of cavalry using 2 hands hammer... If you have an idea, it might make me change my mind and go for a "real" cult of ulric army list ^^

Hello Ladies and Gents, I've been going through a bit of Warhammer-related depression the last year or so. I tried dabbling in 40K and Warmachine to take away my pain. While away from WFB, I was unaware of the way passionate Warhammer enthusiasts are continuing to enjoy the game. I recently discovered The 9th Age project which really got my juices flowing again. But ultimately I don't love T9A, I love Warhammer. I love the authentic GW books, models, fluffs, and yes, even the rules. EEFL pretty much says it all. I've been an enthusiast since I discovered the hobby about 20 years ago. Back then it was all about the game. I didn't have $$$ for models and paint so games happened with pieces of paper pushed around a space of floor marked off by tape Now that I'm back, it's going to be all about the hobby. My goal is to really improve my painting skills and build up a collection I can really be proud of. Eventually I'll have enough models to invite a friend to play a game, but gaming is not a priority for me right now (although it's constantly on the brain). Right now it's time for one of my favorite parts of the hobby: choosing an army. I have hobbied and played games with High Elves, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Bretonnia, and Vampire Counts. Still not sure if I want to go back to one of those old favorites or try something new Cheers.

Hey stirling, welcome to the site. Playing around with different armies myself, just see which style you would like to paint and which philosophy would be fun to play with

So, I never actually did this when I joined the forum so I guess I will now. My name is Daniel and I play Warhammer. I've played many editions (3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and even AoS) and find 8th to easily be the best.
I'm currently in the process of relocating from sunny California to the sometimes frozen north of Rochester New York and am hoping to find a good 8th edition scene to join when I arrive. I'll not be able to bring all my armies with me but I will be arriving with a chaos legion and am hoping to get back to gaming straightway.
So, a nice to meet you (in advance), to the Rochester area Warhammerers.
(As a post-script edit I suppose that I should add that in addition to Fantasy I also play Mordheim, Blood Bowl [BB7's], BFG, Epic, and dabble in 40k)

I read that you are moving to Rochester and almost thought you were joking. Rochester may be the last great bastion of underground 8th edition players. Let me know when you get to town and I'll have you over to my gaming basement...you can meet some of the guys from the forum.

Hey Kaltheras, and hey all. Yes, Rochester NY is the last stronghold of EIGTH EDITION. Our group is relatively large and relatively active.
Speaking of active... I have been MIA for a few months - owing to (1) a one-year-old daughter, (2) increased work load at the office, and (3) it's been really sunny outside and I have caught a lot of live music, festivals and camping lately. None of those are valid excuses for not being a Warhammer Nerd! Sadly, in the past month, the only painting I have done was the fence in my front lawn and not one neighbor commented on either my drybrush technique not my freehand detailing on said fence.
I come to you today with good tidings -
Firstly, I spent 2 hours last night painting 2 monstrous skeletal hippogryphs, a couple of custom models I hacked together with some love from my bitz box. Nothing amazing, but for ME, the first time I have dipped a paint brush in 3 months. I have a weekend home and hope to crush a few more dwarfs too.
Secondly, GW is offering a deal: $80 for a 1-year subscription to the NEW & IMPROVED White Dwarf. Instead of a crappy 16 page commercial, the new version promises to be a 156-page actual gaming magazine. I hope. I think they are going to sell this for around $10 an issue, so 12 x $10 is $120 and $80 seems like a good pre-order deal, so I did it! Rick, I'll make sure to leave my back issues in your downstairs toilet for casual group reading while the Undead players take their 47-minute long magic phases.
So, this is not an introduction persay. Rather a EEFL reintroduction after having gone missing for 3 months. xoxoxo -Will

I think Old Glory had a pack that fit this bill - I'll find a link and a picture.

Yes I am highly amused to be moving to Rochester just as the 8th edition scene has finally failed in Santa Cruz, CA. I'll likely be getting to town sometime between the 15th and 25th if August. I'll make a post here once I've got a firm date for me and my 25,000 points of painted Chaos to arrive.

I have 5,000 points of Purple Slaanesh. Rick has X 1000's of points of RED RED Khorne. Brett has X 1000's of points of RED RED Khorne. I know there are some Nurgle armies in the fold. (are pics posted on this forum?)

(are pics posted on this forum?) It's mostly mortals, about 20,000'ish is mortal stuff, then about 3,000 in beasts and 2,000 in daemons. Things are split between all the gods though my largest contingent is actually undivided chaos, followed, in order, by Nurgle, Khorne, Tzeentch, and then Slaanesh. That being said I've got a new beasts reinforcement in the works as we speak, and in general as many chaos miniatures as I've got painted I've got about as many more unpainted or half painted. It's a never ending project, I'm sure all of you would agree. None of my chaos stuff is posted to this forum yet, I'll be taking photos of everything before I pack it though, so I may post a gallery in the project logs soon. Here's a picture I happen to have on my phone of my palanquin champion:
