strut...do you work? Seriously all the games you play and the projects you're working on and the PROGRESS you're making on everything is putting the rest of us to shame 😉 When I grow up, I want to be just like you. Yupp, have my own company 😊 crafting is my time off screen. When I craft/paint I contemplate on lives questions and everything I need to figure out about work . It's also pretty good hobby when the children go to bed. I do put down of little to much time at the moment. But I like to get things done and have a very supportive wife 😊 But like most people here. I probebly have a plastic addiction . You should see my backlog... But to be honest most pics here are 15min job each night and not so much work. But think mottdon asked me to document every step

Hey, I know what you mean! This hobby is my way of decompressing after work and kids. I feel like I'm still doing something other than just watching TV. Besides, it's fun and keeps me entertained.
Great work on the river! It's coming along nicely! Is this the only segment you've done, or are you doing all of them at the same time? Also, have you thought about how you'll cap the open ends off to fill the river?

Regarding the open ends. I will tape plastic card before filling it up.

Yeah I've heard that taping/hot gluing plasticard/cardboard over the ends works.
I have a TON of resin water effects that I've bought over the years, some ready to go in bottles, others need heating up on the stove; I've always chickened out and ended up just using blue paint and gloss varnish for my flames of war rivers.
One of these days I'll be brave enough to try out the resins.

Starting to pick up some base grey. Tomorrow will be dry brushing. Still not sure if I should do flocking or water first :/

I'd probably try the water first. Unless you're going to put something like reeds in the water's edge.

Think I messed up my first try on resin casting the water.... edges didn't keep dry, so it leaked a bit. Will see tomorrow morning how it looks. But that's why we tried one first

So the effect of the resin is really cool. My job of sealing the edges.... not so good Trying to scrape off some bumps on the bottom off the base before the resin get to stiff.

That looks sweet, thanks for taking the time to record it all. I am not done with the water yet! Next step is vallejo water effects on top to make it curl/alive.
