Cool gamezone miniatures. Looking good as a unit.
Lovely cockatrice.
Regarding the miner horn, currently the hole isn't completely symmetrical. If you bring the black closer to the edges I think it will look better. I can understand not wanting to drill it out as the horn is so thick.

Okay, hammertime! So these are my hammerers. Twenty of them (+plus the BSB). Not a fan of any of the generations of GW models (don't hate me) and when I stumbled upon these on ebay I went for it. They are from a Spanish company called 'Gamezone'. Metal and decidedly gruff, no jewels, no frills, just hammers, beards and chain mail. Oh, and capes: That was on the plus side. The drawbacks: they are a pain to rank up and the hammer shafts are a tad too thick. Oh, and they don't come with command models. There is a musician model, but my second hand batch didn't come with a horn. I converted the command group using GW plastic bits. The horn-less guy become the standard bearer (now carefully judging the exact angle to hold the banner so it flaps nicely in the wind), a regular trooper became the drummer. The champion is just out of the box, a boss-blond beard hopefully is enough to set him apart. Here is a close up of the unit filler: While getting the unit bumped up to 20 was a nice side effect, the real reason for this was making them rank up. Even now I can only do them in 7x3 and 5x4 in exactly one way (marked on the bottom of the base). If I wanted to reform any other way, I would need to send my opponent to go have some coffee for that is how long it would take to figure it out.

Very interesting! They almost have a "Roman" look! I love seeing alternative models work!

You make the models shine! Lovely colour scheme and I like your 'homemade' command squad. Imo the boss blond beard is enough to make your champion look like one Really impressive unit and I like the banner work. They certainly look Stubborn!

okay, need to catch up on this log. First of all, here is the miner banner banner. I traced elements directly off the computer screen then colored in. Much sweat and tear spilled and little to show for it. The horn I drilled out as suggest by mottdon. Worked okay, it improved the look I think. Maybe with some more subtle painting it could be improved even more but I am spent on this model for the time being. And here is a grudge thrower. Really cool model down to the last details. The crew is awesome too. They look like hard-working dwarfs. Dropping rocks on your enemies apparently takes one part brain and two parts brawn.

Can definitely notice the hollowed out horn.

Awesome! Yeah, love the horn too! Is that a Kings of War "Grudge Thrower"? I must admit, it looks better than GWs version. Great work as usual!

Thanks guys. Nope, that stone thrower is GW. Before they decided dwarfs hate wood and wheels and instead put their war machines on slabs of concrete.
