Hi everyone!
My name is Markus and I hail from frozen Norsca (-17 C in Finland at the time of writing this). I have been on-and-off (studies, wife, kids, etc.) playing Warhammer since the 3rd edition. I think I got my copy in '88 and while I have dabbled in other armies and races - mostly Chaos - my one and true love has always been the Greenskins ever since we played the scenario Forenrond's Last Stand from the back of the book (with paper counters of course!). I did most of my playing during 5th-7th edition and like many others, my and my friends' gaming went on a bit of a hiatus when AoS came along - mind you, I still bought the starter box because of those sweet Khorne minis on a *very* reasonable price.
I used to be a semi-active poster on old Usenet group and later TWF (Mark V's Orcy Blog of Dippage was probably my biggest contribution there) too, but like my gaming, my foruming has been rather non-existent for about two years. I did paint a figure or two every now and then and even picked up a WH40k starter box to have some small games with my oldest son. However now that my friend and I decided to pick up Warhammer Fantasy again and after some discussion settled on 8th edition, I started to search for some more recent information on it like some updated rules queries and such. After some Googling found this forum and instantly decided to join after I saw some familiar names and recent discussion.
- Markus

Welcome tylymiez. I'm glad someone else started off with the paper counters in the back of the 3rd ed. book! It also started my love of greenskins (even if they are consigned to a box at present!).

Welcome tylymiez, You made the right choice by choosing 8th Edition WFB to get back into wargaming. Although it's not perfect, overall I find it to be the most fun and balanced version of the game. Looking forward to reading your posts!
