Random metal Dwarf Slayer I picked up at Salute last year: It's a decent model though the axe is too plain. Anyway, another Slayer is always handy.

Haha that axe is very bare bones but maybe he likes it that way Slayer looks great.

Have to say Sedge, I've read through the whole thread and your dwarfs are excellent! The painting is studio-standard, it really is that good. Couple of questions: 1) I know its more time & money, but no hordes? 2) Have you any pics of the whole army assembled?

Have to say Sedge, I've read through the whole thread and your dwarfs are excellent! The painting is studio-standard, it really is that good. Couple of questions: 1) I know its more time & money, but no hordes? 2) Have you any pics of the whole army assembled? Thanks! Dwarfs work well with my painting style, and painting up the whole lot at once helped to keep things coherent. 1) Hordes - I could field my 30 Thunderers in a horde, but otherwise my infantry units are all 25 models or less. My approach to building armies has changed since my earlier years in WFB - I don't play so many games, and I have so many hundreds of unpainted models across all my armies still to paint. I can't justify painting another 10-20 of the same models when they probably won't see battle much at all, and I've got so many other units I haven't painted any models from yet. Also, the most "hordable" Dwarf unit is great weapon warriors, and there isn't a kit of those that fits in my army's aesthetics. If and when Games Workshop or Avatars of War release a good warriors with great weapon kit, I might consider getting a horde then. 2) Sadly not. I've been asked this a few times, and for my Dark Elves too. It's really time consuming to get them all set up (I have to set up tables in my living room, cart all the models down there, and then take them out of storage boxes, then put the whole lot back again), and any time I consider doing it, I tell myself I'd be better off just painting another unit instead. One day I'll do an army photo.

I've spent some time on my Dwarfs this year, to keep the army "complete". I've also gone back and added eyes to the characters that didn't have them, but didn't feel it worth updating the photos here. Here's a couple of bits from Battle for Skull Pass - a shield wall and grudge pony. Neither have a particular in-game use, but are characterful models anyway. Avatars of War Battle Standard Bearer. It was originally a kickstarter exclusive, I think, but they re-released it on a temporary basis a while back. The Dwarf is metal, but the banner is 3D printed, and the quality isn't great - lots of printing lines, though the paint has obscured the worst of that, and chunky detail. It also had lots of messy bits to clean up. It's still an impressive banner, but not as cool as the Forge World one I have earlier in the thread: This is an Engineer converted from the Cursed City Dagnai Holdenstock model, which was too Kharadron Overlords for my liking originally. I swapped its head with one from the Gyrocopter kit, and both spare arms from Grim Burloksson. I think it works quite well for Warhammer Fantasy now:

That engineer is an excellent kitbash.
I'm also liking the cart as well:I have few to paint myself so it's good to get some inspiration.
And, of course I'm always a sucker for a huge banner.
Great update.
