I just got this off eBay. Not in the greatest condition, but at least it's all there. I'll take care of it now. Best read ever. Enjoy!

Not the greatest condition indeed...
That thing is a true treasure cove of WHF hobby goodness though, may it serve you well!

Change it for the 6th ed one ;-p All you need to add to the 7th Ed one is the revised Ambush rules and Marks from Glottkin to make a decent army, though I do agree the act of moving Dragon Ogres from Beastmen to WoC was despicable, as Dragon Ogres always fitted better with the former and the latter are already ridiculously strong without Dragon Ogres added in too. Perhaps Beastmen should be given the ability to field Dragon Ogres, Shaggoths and Kholek straight from the WoC book?

Drop the 3 monsters points by 75pts (blatantly still the preliminary points, before the book's initial designer got fired - lol).
Maybe even allow a mino unit as core if minolord is the general?

BoC are one of those armies that get a much needed boost there. Sure, you can abuse the hell out of the ET rules - but you don't have to. Simply don't be that guy. For thematic lists with lots of cool conversions it's a treasure chest full of possibilities!

Sooo... my "don't buy any more hobby stuff, like srsl!" attempt of this month worked until about ten minutes ago. Got me 40 Orcs and an Orc Shaman on 'bay, prices were good. Not that I need them, but whatever. Also this.

I agree with them being able to field the stuff from the Warriors of Chaos book that were part of the 6th army book. My brother and I only play 7th and will be doing this as we play through a large campaign between Beastmen and Empire, where we can have the creatures use marks as per that book, and whatever special rules apply such as Will of Chaos on Chaos hounds etc. We are pretending The End Times was averted, and it is set about 5 years after Chaos were beaten off. Karl Franz, badly wounded in the climatic final battle, has died, never recovering from the battle, and succession has been nothing but a farce as a number of warlords vie for control. Bullgrox Goreheart has built up a large army and attacks Stirland when the Empire is fighting amongst themselves. But anyhow, I'd add Chaos trolls and ogres to that list.

Sounds amazing, for a moment I don't care about this being so off topic. Please keep us updated on what you do and play - battle reports and stories when possible! Share what you can, I for one would be very thankful.

Oops, my apologies! We played the first game of our campaign the other week and I did write up something on it, I ought to post it in the Other than Eighth section (I've just posted it there now!). Anyhow, on topic, I too picked up a ragged copy of the General's Compendium, 5 khorngors including command for £20 (£25 including postage which I thought was quite good!), the old bone armoured beastman from the 80s, and just ordered the Zealot Minotaur general, and the Mierce minis Goraakk the Ripper on Tarvocx and his hoof alternatives (the sword and shield, two one handed weapons and a two handed axe), plus a Heresy Beastwomen figure. I may have spent a little too much :/

There was a time when I regretted getting all the ET books and felt royally ripped off - mostly because of how GW handled the end of WHF and how poor the overarchign story was. Luckily I got over it: by making up my own head canon in which the End Times never actually happened, being only the crazy scribblings in some mad wizards library (a bit like the real ET books). Now I consider them a cool addition to 8th edition in terms of scenarios, rules and "ways to play the game" - like a toolbox with lots of options, none of them necessary.
ANYWAY!
Picked up two sets of the Mines Of Moria terrain yesterday. Great for generic fantasy terrain, and Dwarfs in particular. I had underestimated how big some of those pieces are, really good stuff!
