Gents,
Ages ago I picked up a MOM miniatures dwarf gholem (the giant/monster sized one rather than the monstrous infantry sized ones). This was mainly for Kings of War but I wondered, was there every any suitable rules posted for such a creature in the warhammer ruleset?
Cheers

They do exist in the Warhammer world in the form of Rune Golems (Gronti Duraz), but as far as I am aware, without ever getting rules. There are old rules for the Colossi of Azram the Mighty:

I knew about the Rune Golems as they are mentioned in the war of the beard trilogy. It’s why I was disappointed they weren’t in the 8th book 😁

Nice! I was planning to write some rules for Dwarf steam walkers, this old set of rules for them will be excellent inspiration!

knoffles: Yes, second edition. The rules come from the second Citadel Journal (September 1985).

It's basically workable now, as is?
M6 Ws4 S7 T7 W6 I3 A5 Ld10
Monster, Terror, Immune to Psychology, Stubborn, Magical Attacks. 245pts
It just needs a save... 3+ Armour?

Stone isn't as tough as metal, though it is pretty darn tough. I certainly gave the Manhirs and Manolith in my Albion rules a 4+ save. To derail the thread a little, Tomb King stone constructs should have the same save as whatever's agreed for stone units

That was pretty much in line with what I was thinking but I’m going to remove magical attacks and give it Thunderstomp and D6 impact hits (it’s going to be used in a specific scenario so also won’t have a points cost for that).

Years ago Tuomas Pirinen (a WFB games designer) supposedly wrote a Chaos Dwarf army book for 5th edition WFB, which was never released. The following rules were said to be a draft for Golem rules for that unleashed Chaos Dwarf army list...
Chaos Dwarf Golem
M=5, WS=4, S=6, T=6, W=5, A=5, LD=10
Immune to psychology and break tests
Metal Body: Armour save of 5+ that can never be reduced by strength of attack
Crush: A Golem can make a single Strength 10 attack on an unmovable target such as building, chariot body, war machine, etc. This hits automatically and inflicts D6 wounds.
Upgrades:
Lavathrower = 50 points (breath weapon, S4 -2 save modifier)
Great Hammer = 20 points (+1 Strength, you can buy two and get an extra attack)
Daemon Crystal = 50 points (2+ save against the effects of a spell)
High Powered Engine= 40 points (Gains +1M, +1S, +1A, but will suffer double wounds from enemy attacks because the machinery is more delicate)
Furnace of Hashut = 50 points (May use the Furnace at the beginning of each turn. It gains +2 M and +D6 attacks, but suffers D6 S6 hits in the process)
