I'm fed up with people (not here, elsewhere on the net) complaining about how slow GW are being with getting even the starting ranges for all the factions out. Be prepared for lots of complaining over the next few years. It will probably take at least two years for GW to work through the core factions. That is how they do business. Gamers love to complain though.

The O&G release is massive. Definitely surprised so much is dropping on one day. I like the inclusion of paper banners with unit command models. The inclusion of the classic Ogres has me confused. Ogres are not an option in the O&G grand army and neither of the announced O&G armies of infamy seem like a good fit for them either. They are not even made to order, right? Irregardless they are great models. edit: I will complain that we are only getting the 1996 Big'uns. I need more of the 1992 Big'uns with spear.

No shit. Where did you see the announcement? That is much more exciting than the "new" units from the Bretonnia and Tomb Kings arcane journals.

Great to see so much Greenskin goodness arriving in the first wave right from the off, and it bodes well for the Wednesday/Thursday preview being for the next faction, especially as the Greenskin preview appeared around the time the very first wave of Bretonnian and Tomb King stuff was about to drop. The inclusion of the classic Ogres has me confused. Ogres are not an option in the O&G grand army and neither of the announced O&G armies of infamy seem like a good fit for them either. They are not even made to order, right? Irregardless they are great models. Principally they're making a return in tribute to 4th and 5th Edition Fantasy, where they were part of the Greenskin army before GW had the idea of giving them their own book. I'd have thought they'd make a fitting additional Monstrous Infantry unit for the Troll Horde Army of Infamy... but we'll find out soon enough where they're going to fit in the army when the Arcane Journal arrives.

I hope it's that (prior year Fantasy edition tribute). In AOS Orcs and Ogres are part of the same overall faction so it could be AOS influence seeping through. Regardless I'm a big fan of the classic ogres so this is nice. Also, Bonegrinder giant only ever had rules in an expansion previously (Monstrous Arcanum) so I'm curious as to what the Arcane Journal rules/stats/points will be. Skulkers do look pretty good on the 25mm bases and the classic Orc Shaman is always welcome.

The Forge World Night Goblin Warboss on Squig was originally going to be special character for an unreleased campaign book, I wonder if he's the second special character.

Yeah that would be awesome if the Squig rider model is a special character. 100% agree in Idol of Gork n Mork. I hope they have all 3 variants.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 'Badlands Ogre Bulls' will show up in the lists for availible mercenaries.

I usually appreciate 4th/5th edition minis from a distance - they're characterful models, and a part of warhammer's history, but not the look that interests me when building and painting an army.
...but those Badlands Ogres... something about those stripey trousers and tusky underbites is doing it for me.

I'm sure our goblin overlord KevinC will be very happy about this one. I can't wait to test out this Troll army.
