The preview of the upcoming Dwarf release failed to tell us the two armies of infamy that will be in the Dwarf arcane journal. But we do know the Ungrim Ironfist, Doomseekers, and Malakai Makaisson's Goblin-hewer are all returning. So it feels pretty certain a Slayer force from Karak Kadrin is one of the armies of infamy. Maybe not 100% slayers. But a Slayer heave force. 50:50 chance we will see Long Drong's Slayer Pirates return. But I'm not sure what the second army will be. We know Josef Bugman on his cart is coming. But as cool as he is, he isn't worthy of an entire army of infamy. Here are my ideas for what the second army of infamy could be: - Engineer school expeditionary force that is heavy with war machines and has access to an Engineer Lord, and maybe Empire helblaster, steamtank, etc.
- Royal throng that can take Hammerers or Ironbreakers as core (but less shooty stuff for balance?)
Of those two, I prefer the Engineer school. But do Dwarfs really need a even stronger gunline option? What do people think? |

I agree that the Engineers' Guild army option would be a better idea, and gives an option to add other war machines (like Dwarf Steam Tanks! Whatever those manlings think they can do the Dawi can do better!) though I'd rather not include any Empire units in the list, I want the Dwarf army to remain as distinct and separate from the Empire as possible. No true Dawi would rely upon foolish umgi for protection!

I've heard rumours that it could be a Nose Dwarf army. Norse Dwarfs being highlighted as a region on the map (when Chaos Dwarves etc which we know aren't coming any time soon are not) could be a clue.

I have enough of the classic Norse dwarf models for a unit. But I don't see GW re-releasing them. |

That'd certainly be a fun idea to play around with, especially with the Norse getting their own double-spread of lore in the rulebook, and would open up opportunities to add some Monstrous Infantry, perhaps even Monsters, to a Dwarf army. Talking of Monsters, I wonder if they'll ever release a model for the Shard Dragon for a Dwarf army, given that Bonegrinder Giants have now been given a home in the standard game? |

I'm also thinking norse dwarfs (i.e gunpowder-less dwarfs) as the second Infamy-list. That being said, the acknowledgement that they will re-release some of the old metal imperial dwarfs makes me think that there's a not too slim chance of the army being Imperial Dwarfs, maybe even with some Empire units thrown in foe good measures. More likely though it's just meant as the models for a generic dwarf mercenary unit.

Ah yeah - I can't read.
Second army will be either engineering school, ranger focused or Royal force (option for throne).
Throw in some "Norse" option for a laugh.
I'd love to see a character being able to ride a gyro!

I hope they do a "Traditional Army" list, which will be expanded upon the 6E Dwarf army under Alrik Ranulfsson, whose "Traditional Army" special rule puts severe limits on all gunpowder/steam units. And I hope they add a character from Karak Vlag just so those MFs will fix their mistake on the TOW interactive map -- Karak Vlag is not destroyed until the Great War Against Chaos, not before! They can use Vlag as a in-between point to mention the Norse Dwarfs as well, since they were the northern-most hold before going into Chaos territory, they can be slightly less technologically advanced and culturally conservative, and also possibly have contact with the Norse Dwarfs (C7's Sea of Claws alluded to this by saying the norse learn about the gun from the Vlagians)

I certainly agree here... and to be honest it would have been pretty easy to think of another new Greenskin character, especially as there are other Waaagh!s shown on the Old World map in the Greenskin Arcane Journal. |
