Folks please mark your calendars. Da Boyz GT 2017 will be November 17-19 2017 in Rochester NY (USA)
Registration is not yet open. But I wanted to give you guys advance notice as we signed our hotel contract on Friday. Plan your calendars now. As far as I am aware we are the only event in the world offering 8th Edition Fantasy gaming for our attendees. (But I hope to one day be one of many.)
Coleman/Rich take the lead usually in determining what format this will be. EEFL was there at the launch of my leadership of Da Boyz and will always have the right to decide what kind of event they want to run. I'm also eager to offer a Friday event for 8th (maybe Storm of Magic or the like as was done 2 years ago.) However, I'm actively asking my 9th Age players if they would rather play 8th or 9th Age. If they want to play 8th I will create and manage an 8th ed tournament (unless the EEFL team wants to run a tournament open to all players at Da Boyz this year.) I'm really not sure what they will say. With the further evolution of 9th away from 8th I'm not sure if all of them will want to continue with 9th Age. Crossroads our closest local brother GT dropped 9th Age this year.
Also please note I will have a table building contest for the 'fantasy systems' players who bring in a table worth of terrain (including mat if possible) will be eligible to compete for an award for 'best table.' Start those creative juices flowing now. I am also running Blood Bowl on Friday no experience necessary fun relaxed games lots of beverages and good times. Learn to play on your IPAD for $5 and you are ready to compete.

Good grief. I'd like to come to this but it's gonna be like $900 for a plane ticket!
If they come down in price by like $300 I'll consider it but until then...have fun guys!

Understood man. That's a lot to travel for even a great game and event. Maybe you could run a local EEFL Da Boyz international event in conjunction with ours? Get some buddies over to play some 8th ed and share some beverages.

Gary, let us know what the 9th Age crew people say. If they would be willing to play 8th, it would be amazing!! Tell them to stop being spoilers and come back to proper WFB!!

Wait, I might paint my shit and do this. Is it actually fully in Rochester? It's just south of RIT and Marketplace Mall...right by the Thruway.

YES as Rich said it's in Henrietta. www.rit.edu/ritinn/Please note the RIT Inn is NOT on the RIT campus remember to manage your GPS navigation correctly. It's easy enough for most Rochester attendees to drive. I'm getting a hotel room so I can enjoy some adult beverages and not worry about getting into the car. Get your rooms early. Anaris if you are a member of this forum, live in Rochester and you don't make it out to Da Boyz you are doing it wrong You've got six months. Buy a cane of Army Painter colored spray prime and some washesr or dip and get to work! Other NE/Midwest USA folks I'd also appreciate it if you started talking to buddies about making the trip if it's a reasonable distance for you. I used to drive up for Da Boyz from Maryland and it was always fun when I was an attendee. We get folks from the Midwest, Canada, Mid Atlantic and New England every year as well as all over NY. Watch www.daboyzgt.com for more information. Registration is not open yet.

Here's the plan for EEFL@DaBoyz2017:
Friday: Storm of Magic
Saturday: EEFL Escalation Tournament (500, 1000, 2000, 2500) Scenarios will be provided by EEFL (some will be recycled from the Escalation at Just Games)
Sunday: Open 8th edition gaming and Dark Tidings Campaign meetup.
Note that the tournament part of the event will be all done on Saturday. This allows those with limited time to get a full tourney experience in a day. Anyone who travels will be able to have tourney plus more relaxed pickup battles on Sunday.

Great idea. The three day commitment can be tough.
